Late 2016 signing/Grad Transfer
HoosierTrav replied to Hoosiers219's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm pretty sure our chances at Thon have officially reached 0%. Did not schedule an official with Indiana. Ed Smith was asked by Jerry Meyers, whether we would get an official and he was quoted as saying "we know everything we need to know at this point." -
Late 2016 signing/Grad Transfer

He's not raw on defense. He's an instant impact frosh on the defensive end. -
He will technically get paid but he will be making peanuts in the D-League. Not enough for his mother to laugh all the way to the bank anyways.

IU "Screw" Kentucky Post Game Victory Thread

I'm so hammered right now! This is such an amazing night. Purdue person Kentucky!!!! -
Miller has never had anything close to Wade and Miller has consistently been in position to get to a final four. Miller has also never had a Zeller or Oladipo. Crean gets all the credit for developing Oladipo. I'm not saying that Miller is far and away better, I was just defending Miller from people who think he isn't as good as Crean. I'm not sure how much better, but he's better. The fact people say he's done little with a lot is a joke to me. 3 straight elite 8's and losing to Bo Ryan's best assortment of talent in his career, is not doing little. It's putting his program in great position and losing to the better team. He's got an insane recruiting class coming and is the favorite to land Josh Jackson. So we will find out very soon just how good Miller is with "Wade-like" talent.

Had 2 or 3 straight Elite 8's I believe. Not shabby. Being in the position to make a final four consistently is what we want after all, no? Not endorsing Sean Miller by any means but he is a young rising coach and a VERY elite recruiter.

. Being reported that no UK kids lost any teeth, as they've all been lost well before their teenage years.

I have a feeling that the first game is going to give us full on heart attacks. If we make it past them and UK beats SB, I think this is exactly what we have to do. I've said it before but OG has to play 20-25 minutes in each game past the first round or we lose. I like OG to guard Poythress and Murray (if he's getting off). We need max to hit some 3's to bring the bigs out to the perimeter. I'd also let big tom have the green light from distance. He's proven he's capable of knocking it down and it just opens up the lane for our cutters.

Zeller staying for a junior year...Vonleh staying for a soph year.... Fischer staying, Trey Lyles staying committed... These things dont happen and this thread never exists IMO. Those teams would have been scary good, regardless of Creans in game abilities.

Thursday night and Saturday night..... The legend of OG Anunoby grows to incredible heights.. He's our x-factor due to his ability to guard anyone in this tournament IMHO. Our biggest advantage in game 1 is our frosh big man Thomas Bryant. If we prevail and play UK, we match up well with their size, as long as OG gets extended minutes and Yogi doesn't disappear, I like us to make the sweet 16. UK isn't nearly as tough as all of you are making them out to be. Yes they are playing well as of late but I'm still not impressed by anything other than their guard play. They played absolute garbage competition all season long in the SEC and still took their lumps. We match up beautifully with them and Thomas Bryant will take Skal's lunch money.

Not saying we cant have an outlier performance in March. i'm saying the best programs consistently do this in March and unfortunately for Crean (and all of us), he has a very bad track record overall. He's outright awful in postseasons.
-
I want so bad to believe that we can make a final four.....then I realize that we would have to win 4 straight games away from assembly hall against very high level comp in each game....Is it more reasonable to expect this to happen, given Tom Crean's career body of work in post seasons? Or is it more reasonable to expect a loss in one of the 1st 3 games? We all know the answer to this. It's still not going to stop me from being engaged and rooting for IU to make a run. I just cannot let myself have high expectations. I'd have much more confidence if we wouldn't have Purdue Person'd our pants in the B1G tourney. I would gladly trade regular season championships for post season accolades. The best programs perform in March. We are not one of these programs until we prove it with something other than regular season championships.

Nope. He's not going anywhere. In any tournament or to another school. We are stuck with him. Michigan played like a team who needed to win to get in and Indiana played like a team who didn't care bc they are in.

. Bolden is a monster. Going to dominate where ever he plays.
-
I'm not so sure that this team is better than the 2012-2013 team. That team would take this team to the woodshed IMHO.
-
The Big 12 love fest is getting annoying. Your league cant be THAT good when 1 team wins the league outright for 12 straight years. The tournament will expose them once again. #B1G

I think Draymond was much more skilled with his ballhandling and could play more of a point forward position. Draymond can also guard more positions (effectively) than Hayes. I like Hayes a lot. I'm just not sure I can see him being an NBA talent.

People in North Carolina feel very strongly that Newkirks ceiling is much higher than what we had seen at Pitt. Crean does 1 thing extraordinarily well and that's develop individual talent. Max Beifeldt isn't the most glamorous example, but he may be one that sticks out the most. Something tells me that Newkirk is going to be a very nice surprise. I'm very high on Devonte Green as well. We won't have Yogi, but I think we will be just fine with the backcourt we have.
