I am so excited for TJD and Armaan to get on campus. They are both trying to recruit Brunk and Windham. TJD is already working out with Brunk. They seem like the right guys for the culture along with Rob and Al.

I’d be cool with Smith playing on the wing IF he reworked his shot, found some handles, defended the perimeter better, and showed he gave a damn. Until then, I’d put him way down the depth chart behind anyone who showed effort. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

** Carsen Edwards has declared for the NBA draft WITH an agent. ** His stock will never be higher. Probably the best move for him.

And that right there is why you take a long term view on this instead of the short sighted one you’re peddling. If Windham can help Archie build a successful team and program bring him on board. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I get it and I'm with you. I'm talking about the history of this board. I've made the same argument for years...rankings mean nothing unless you get a few top 30-40 kids on the same roster. I'd rather have basketball players. Happy to see others beginning to agree.

Yes because never in the history of college basketball has a freshmen dramatically improved his shooting numbers. Yogi was shooting over 40 percent from day one.......Wait the judges just informed me that despite having Cody Zeller, Watford, Hulls and Oladipo to create space Yogi only shot 30 percent his freshmen year. Upping it to 40 his next season. Is it possible that players get better?

Look at Texas Tech's players and their rankings. Rob Phinisee wasn't a top 100 recruit. I'm done worrying about recruiting rankings. If the kid will play hard for Indiana and Archie plus fit the system I will take them!

Define "win?" Indiana needs to show significant progress next season, and they need to continue setting themselves up for longer term success; but what "has" to happen next season? I'm not sure I think next season is the end all, be all with his first recruiting class being sophomores.

Archie isn’t against an uptempo game, as long as it’s created from defense. The problem we had this past season was getting transition from our defense in conference play. We seemed out of sync running the fast break and I think a lot of that had to do with continuing Tú due to injury. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app

    RIP Coach Knight

Both the university and athletic department have tried to bury the hatchet for years... but Knight has always rebuffed the attempts at reconciliation by being an @$$. I hate what dementia and Alzheimer's disease do to a person, but all of the hate has been on Knight's side. He has been invited back multiple times for a chance for the university and athletic department to honor him and bestow love/praise/honor on him, but he's carried too large of a grudge to allow that to happen. Glad to see that, for whatever reason, he is showing signs of being willing... but don't attempt to spin this any way except that it's been on him.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

He's coming to the school to perform, not give life advice to the football team. College kids don't care about his legal issues, they just like his music. And my comment was more about the larger movement by some schools to modernize college athletics and bring them in line with modern day culture, a movement that IU is lagging way behind in.

I’d take both along with Leal and Galloway. They are winners that play the right way which is something that IU has struggled to find in recent years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

It just has to be "improved." Franklin will help. Hunter will really help. Jackson-Davis is really solid. Phinisee will be healthy. Thompson will be healthy. Sounds like Green is working hard and I know Durham will. Davis will be another year healthier and a senior. One of the most experienced bigs in the conference. We'll already be deeper as far as talent is concerned. We have lost all dead weight save Anderson and really will only miss Morgan. Everyone else save Romeo we lost is just a body, and he played hurt and limited all year. I firmly believe Franklin can give us 10-12 of his points. I'll start with those 8 kids and feel like we're a better team than we were this past season....especially if Green can just get rid of the poor decisions. That by itself makes us 4-5 points better every single night.

Smith’s best fit is as a small ball 4 in an up tempo game. He would have been a fit for Crean. But if he genuinely believes he belongs on the wing, that’s a problem. Since Archie would rather not play small or up tempo, and if Hunter is able to go, I really don’t see a fit for Smith.

I think I'd rather have Quinones over Watford, Beverly, and Windham. He would be the first guard off the bench in year one and start year two. I'd love Watford but the Romeo comment rubbed me the wrong way. IU needs guys who will play to their role. That is why I love seeing Devonte getting shots up at Cook Hall!

What’s a “Pusey”? Must mean “a good man who played harder injured than most players do healthy, raised a fantastic family after his playing days were over, and gave everything he had for IU when he was there. “ Because that’s exactly who Neil Reed was.
