I really like the upper-left photo with the state outline. My least favorite is the bottom left that just says Hoosiers on the back. It looks like a little kid did the graphic. And for the candy stripes I think I prefer the chrome from last year to the white helmets they've put together for this, but all in all I like them.3 points -
(2014) LB Demarquis Gates to Ole Miss
HoosierReb01 and one other reacted to JSHoosier for a topic
My gut tells me Ole Miss, but hopefully I'm wrong. I'd love to add this guy to the squad.2 points -
I loved it to an extent. He performed better than pretty well any pitcher in Japan, he even performed better than Yu Darvish in some ways, although he's more projected to be a good 2 than an ace. I just didn't like giving that kind of contract, 7/155 is A LOT for someone that has never thrown a pitch in MLB. He was a player I really wanted though because they needed rotation help (and the FA options weren't as good and just as expensive) and he's young, and I liked that they took a chance on a Japanese player because they were tentative after they missed with Kei Igawa (which is they're own fault, he sucked over there too). So basically I loved it except for the size of the contract. Unfortunately it's going to be that way now for players like him because the new posting system makes it so many teams can negotiate instead of one team throwing a mountain of un-taxable cash for sole negotiating rights (ala Darvish).2 points

He seemed like a better fit in the 4-3. I think you will see guys like Newton/Gooch walk up over the TE in the 3-4. You will see the staff grab another OLB for this spot. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners2 points -

Yeah, just seen a tweet from him though, looks like the recruitment goes back to Franklin's time at Vandy, so there was a long relationship there. Not completely out of left field. Edit: Cause the General is being a **** and making this post redundant, lol.2 points -
(2014) DE Willie Yarbary to Wake Forest
ccgeneral reacted to HoosierReb01 for a topic
McCrary(?) who visited last weekend is kind of a hybrid DE/LB that is expected to fit the 3-4 pretty well. Not sure of any others at the moment, but I would be surprised if the coaching staff wasn't keeping tabs on a guy or two.1 point -

(2014) DE Willie Yarbary to Wake Forest
ccgeneral reacted to OliviaPope40 for a topic
Wake Forest received a verbal commitment from defensive end and former Indiana commit, Willie Yarbary, who visited Wake Forest this past weekend. Willie Yarbary is a 6’2" 270 pound defensive pound defensive lineman from the Academy of Richmond County in Augusta, Georgia. Yarbary was previously committed to Indiana University, but decided to flip his commitment following his official visit to Wake Forest this past weekend. Ironically enough, the current defensive coordinator at Indiana University is former Wake Forest University defensive coordinator, Brian Knorr. The consensus 3 star recruit This past season, Yarbary recorded 97 total tackles, 53 of which were solo, 9 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble. For his efforts, Yarbary was named honorable mention all-state for Class AAAA in Georgia. Yarbary will join fellow defensive line commits Zeek Rodney, Rashawn Shaw and Chris Stewart (Knight). Please join me in welcoming Willie to Wake Forest! National Signing Day is Wednesday, so please continue to follow Blogger So Dear for the latest coverage on all things related to football recruiting, and check out our recruit database. http://www.bloggersodear.com/2014/2/4/5377144/willie-yarbary-commits-to-wake-forest-indiana-football-recruiting Here's what I found on SB Nation if this helps as to why he flipped.1 point -
Well I did look at his ESPN profile earlier and it had Wake Forest as not having offered. So, they could've offered recently and that's what he was waiting on. I haven't read the article yet, but planned on doing a little more research tonight.1 point

You see kids committing then go on 3 more visits and usually flip. Why not just wait and commit when you get done with the process. It baffles me. I think we have to trade Lee to stock up on prospects because having him now doesn't help our team enough to be a contender. We aren't that good. So trade him and make our farm system better.1 point

Yeah, I love Utley, but he just has so many issues as of late. Same with Ryan Howard too. Glad they've stuck with those two, Hamels, Ruiz and Rollins to keep a solid base in the infield. And I definitely agree. My biggest issue with the team is the lack of young talent. Sure, we have Dom Brown, Darin Ruf (I see some potential to takeover for RH), and a couple of other guys, but the team just seems too old to me. Even the backups have been old in recent years... Brian Schneider, who I can't stand.1 point

Phillies fan. We had a good run a few years back. Could've been a dynasty. Injuries have killed my team though, along with trading the likes of Victorino and Polanco. Still a die hard fan, though. Ryan Howard is by far my favorite athlete.1 point

Cubs fan. I don't care about baseball nearly as much as football or basketball, so I'm not as torn up about how bad they always are as some. They really do seem to be looking up with Epstein though, that guy is amazing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners1 point -
We probably aren't going to get this guy, but he's the only other Defensive End with an offer in this class (2014). I think we have some pretty deep, young talent on the D-Line, so having a class where we are a little short on commits at the position won't hurt us too bad.1 point

Welcome aboard. Aaron Sharockman @asharock 3m Lyman linebacker Greg Gooch commits to Indiana #IUFB http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/recruiting/os-lyman-linebacker-greg-gooch-commits-to-indiana-20140203,0,3949951.post Longwood Lyman linebacker Greg Gooch ended the suspense of his recruitment Monday by committing to Indiana over his other two finalists Cincinnati and Iowa State. Gooch, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound force for the Greyhounds this year, averaged about 10 tackles per game, had five sacks and 28 tackles for loss. He's an extremely active linebacker who can also play standup defensive end and Lyman coach Jeff Gierke took advantage of his athleticism by frequently moving him around the box. Gooch is the No. 3- ranked player in the Sentinel's 2014 Central Florida Super60. He is one of two Lyman linebackers who will sign with FBS schools during Wednesday's National Signing Day. He'll join teammate Nico Firios, the No. 12 player in the Super60, who is committed to Kentucky.1 point -
