Add Goode to that and we’re so set. That’s a wish list with only 1/4 currently and quite a ways to go.

Yalden's younger brother is an 8th grader at Paris Illinois. My future son in law is from Paris and asked me to go along with him to watch the younger brother play. Very impressive. 6' 3" and very athletic. Rumor in Paris is they are losing him to La Lumiere. They aren't happy Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk -

What we're look at is the mid/low majors turning into a development league for the P4's. Kids who average 14PPG and more on the mid-major level will enter the portal every year, looking for the top dollar. However, I think this could help mid-majors in a way as P4's recruit less HS kids.

Can you shed light on what indications are being sent? Has he been in communication with IU? -

Let me clarify. Could he end up at texas, obviously. But indications are he wants to come back to the state and iu has the money it will take to make it happen. Will devries pay it who knows. -

I think it depends on if he loved playing under Milker and willing to go to Texas or if he wants to stay close to home because to me CDD has a system he would love playing in -

That or he doesn't want his phone blowing up every minute for the next week or two. With agents, it's smart to do it this way if you're a player of Conwell's caliber. -

Might want to consult Maryland Ladies coach. She recently replaced her whole team and right now she’s Maryland is doing fairly well. -

Right on man I believe it no doubt, but a program like ours should never be in a position to only have four Big Ten players on the roster to begin with so hopefully she gets this figured out. -
It looks like a raise to $675k and extension. I don't see an extension in this article, just the raise. Calls him the "de-facto general manager" at Bama. I'm not sure if this is behind a paywall or not: https://247sports.com/college/alabama/article/new-contract-details-released-for-alabama-football-staff-members-key-basketball-assistant-247833395/#:~:text=Preston Murphy%2C an assistant coach, will pay him %24675%2C000 annually. This one says there is an extension through the end of 2028. https://alabama.rivals.com/news/alabama-approves-new-contracts-for-over-a-dozen-staff-members-ryan-grubb I would guess a buyout would be like 75% of the remaining contract. If so, that would put the buyout at almost $2M. This is totally a guess, though.

Darian DeVries - New IUBB Head Coach

Who knows. I would guess bama won’t let him go without a fight however Oats will be just fine finding a replacement. The guy lost all his assistants to head coaching jobs a couple years ago and turned out to find more sharks -
Walsh worked his @$$ off with Sisley and deserves a ton of credit for keeping him locked in on IU. Not sure the others were necessarily on him as you pointed out.
-
Maybe it was just a raise. Good I like the sound of that

They extending past his current 2027 contract or just approved a raise? If they extended past his current one then it would seem he is staying however if they just approved a raise and didn’t extend his current contract then IU could possibly still be in the mix -
Murphy always felt like a pretty serious pipe dream given where Bama is and what they’re able to pay. But, hey, if DeVries expressed interest and his guy ended up leverging a raise out it, no harm, no foul. The Moikobu thing fascinates me and I REALLY hope that happens. Check out the guy’s resume: https://texastech.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/achoki--moikobu-/4048 Every school he’s been at has gotten much better immediately. So he’s either: 1) the Forrest Gump of Asst Coaches and just walks into great situations, 2) a guy with a great eye for good coaches, or 3) a really, really great Asst. Pretty sure it’s a combination of 2 and 3. So I’m in big-time on that dude.

I’d be ok with Conwell, DeVries. Tucker. As a 2,3,4. Get a good PG and C and let’s roll.

NCAA Women's Bball Transfer Portal

Also important to note the five players in portal so far for women are not due to lack of NIL. How much NIL the program has is a question. However, none of the ones who entered will command much if anything $$$ wise. This was an issue of them wanting to play more elsewhere. The only returning players on the roster who could command decent to good NIL are Yarden or Shay. The rest are not people others would bang down the door for or pay a lot to which again shows how well Moren has done to get as much as she has out of current team given lack of talent. You essentially had four Big Ten level players playing this year in Syd, Chloe, Shay, and Yarden with no center or great backups and still went to NCAA Tournament and won 20 games. That is a pretty impressive coaching job. Now key is with portal to get more players on the level of those four. Lenee is high level player after being injured and Faith has potential to be one. However, like I said getting what you did from this group of players shows what a good leader and coach Moren really is! -
Preston Murphy is included on a list of coaches that are getting approved by Alabama's Board of Regents/Trustees for a raise and new contract. I'd guess that means he will not be an assistant. That is a bummer. Barnett off the board after getting the head coaching job at ORU and Murphy staying at Alabama (certainly understandable). Of the speculated guys, here is who is left: -Chester Frazier (I think there could be dominoes that fall at Maryland that lead him to College Park...he's from Baltimore so that would make sense) -Achoki Moikobu at Texas Tech -Ostrom (keep seeing "he's going to Minnesota" but it hasn't been announced so...) -Rod Clark at Tennessee (both Clark and Moikobu were at Sunrise Christian, just an interesting side note) -Drew Adams (in-state connections, got two high four stars to Cincy in their incoming class including a top 40 guy, international scouting and recruiting connections) -Mitch Ballock (Creighton GA...I'd guess he would not be one of the main assistants) I'm sure there are other options that we just don't know about and we know Nick Norton is coming, assuming as one of the assistants. I'd be thrilled with Frazier, Adams, Clark and Moikobu and I could certainly understand the rationale of bringing Ostrom back to IU. Anxious to see the actual hires and then the dominoes to start falling with portal targets.

Chester Frazier taking something too personally? No way. /s

If one believes the word on the WVU board the relationship between Frazier and Devries is “fried.” They say he didn’t like the way the departure went but could just be sour grapes - who knows?
