my opinion is as follows... Tom Crean needs more time... Is he a good coach? maybe Is he a great coach? maybe Is he a National championship coach? maybe... we don't effing know...It took Jimmy Boheim 20 some-odd years to win it all... yes, yes, yes...this year is shitty...we all know it's shitty... have we learned nothing from the football program that begs for a new coach every 4 years... it takes time people... it isn't 1985 anymore...Bob Knight learned that the 90s aren't like the 80's...hell...it's 2014...

I put 2-4 only because of the massive buyout his absurd contract has.   My goodness that contract was mind numbingly stupid for a coach that has only established consistent mediocrity.

I don't have any tattoos.  I probably won't ever have any.  I have nothing against anyone that has tattoos.  I have nothing against anyone that doesn't have tattoos.  Years ago ear piercing was considered taboo.  Now nobody bats an eye at it.  For the people that hate tattoos, I really think you'd be surprised how many of your friends/family/coworkers have them.  It's a high number.   Quick story, my old boss took me out to the golf course with him one summer right after work.  Straight laced guy, mid 40's with wife and kid.  It was a hot day and he took me to his country club where he proceeded to golf in a long sleeve golf shirt.  I finally asked him what the hell was wrong with him and he pulled up his sleeves to show he had full sleeve tattoos down to his mid forearm!  He said the country club people would give him too many looks and probably try to kick him out if they knew.  I had no idea he had them at work.  Especially since even when he'd wear a sweater or something he'd still pull his sleeves up (to mid forearm) and you couldn't tell.  For the record, all of his tattoos had significant meaning to him and he loved them.  Hated the fact that he had to hide them when he was at work or the country club.  tons of prejudice out there.     The point of this post, is that boss was the exact same guy he was before I knew he had all the tattoos and after I found out he had them.   It's just ink under your skin.  Doesn't affect who you are or how you act.  Have a feeling this is another generation thing.  (See Indiana's new uniform thread...)

If we're going to be traditional we should go way back. All I could find right now was from the 40s and 50s but I've seen much further back, they're great unis! None of this Bob Knight era stuff, he didn't invent IU basketball, most people just think he did.   1953         1940

I AM saying that if we change our uniforms and we happen to lose some fans because of it I'll be thrilled those fans are gone. Too many decisions surrounding Indiana Basketball are made by tiptoeing around old school grumpy fans that can't tolerate change. Serious question. When Knight and Felling were still at IU we'd go to the games on them because of my father in laws connection to Felling, and would always get wings at Buffa Louies.
