go iu bb Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 IU beats ranked Northwestern. I haven't seen Capobianco in the results for either meet this season. Anyone know what's up with that? Even though I never swam at that level, I know how time consuming swimming can be. I imagine she also felt a lot of pressure, both internal and external, after having broken Kings HS records. It's disappointing to me as a fan but I fully support both of their decisions and hope they find what they need without the rigors and stress of high level swimming impeding them. Burn out is a real thing and I think the biggest component is mental. Lots of time, energy, and pressure isn’t ideal. Both probably started swimming seriously when they were 7-10 years old. By middle school it’s common to be working out 6-8 times a week in the pool. It is a mental and physical grind. Hoping the best for both. There is more to life than sports. The fan in me is disappointed but I not only can't blame them for looking out for their own well-being, I'm glad they are. That's more important than sports. Besides, college should be fun and enjoyable. BeerBQ, mamasa, go iu bb and 1 other 4 Quote
