I hope Nelson is the best guard in the world. I hope he has a HoF career. He very well might. But OL is the least important position that's not K or P. So improving at OL has, by definition, less impact than improving at literally any other position.

^ dumbest tweet I’ve read yet about the draft

Wow. Some people should not tweet.

Foundation players will always make life easier for the skill players. OL/DL are arguably the most important positions on a team.

As a Bears fan Nelson is who I wanted at 8. Don’t get me wrong I love Smith at 8, but Nelson is coming in as a guy that at worst should be a multi year pro bowl player that will improve your running game and improve your pass protection. He is special.

And playing along Kelly at center makes for a solid OL

Yep. I'm certainly not a Domer fan, but all the people I know around the program have raved about him since he stepped on campus. And is a super quality guy off the field as well.

It really is unimportant. I mean the Colts paid their star QB 25 million to ride the pine last year because of the continual pummeling the OL allowed him to take. That doesn't make them important at all.

De-valuing the offensive line is why the Colts were dead last in sacks allowed last year and why they've been near the bottom of the league three years running.

That said, if the Colts are going to use second round picks on offensive linemen, that line better be an effing wall in the coming years.
