Aaron Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Very nice win and you beat a solid borderline top-30 Texas A+M team who has no resemblance to team who national title last year and replaced every single player in main lineup. The #12 is a paper ranking based on last year and they have lost big to all three good teams they have played so far in blowouts and tonight is closest they came to beating a power-five squad and 3-4 record overall now. Definitely a really solid victory against a squad of similar talent on a neutral floor that will help resume. Just don't conflate last years championship squad with this one. TAMU did a fairly poor job of rebuilding after hoisting their banner last year. Quote

Aaron Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Not even mad. That they can now compete with Wisconsin shows they are as least as good if not better than last yr and actually gives them legit shot in Sweet 16 to win this time. Had this as a sure loss in three sets so they are clearly much better than I thought (and I thought they were good but Wiscy much better). Win the winnables which they have done beautifully so far and get a few good resume wins and you are hosting again. Georgia, TAMU, and UCLA fill this and the three losses are to elite national contenders. Question again seems to be will they host over will they make it (particularly with Avry Tatum eligiblity for now). Big gut check will be if they can finally beat Purdue at home which is now their equal rather than a bridge to far. Just give Nebraska and Minnesota all they can handle and win a few more tossups (Purdue, Oregon, Washington, Penn State) and take care of business and team is sitting really pretty for postseason.
