2016-17 Basketball Schedule

Recommended Posts

Not a horrible schedule tbh. Minny and Iowa will be down this year. OSU is sort of an unknown at this point and the same with Maryland.

Only play MSU at home

just have to be sure to get the split with the Badgers who hopefully take a step back as Bo Ryan's system is phased out. And a split with the overrated Boilermakers.

Bo Ryans system is phased out? They're going back to the original Bo Ryan system. What was used before Dekker, Kaminsky and Hayes. Plus they'll have Hayes, Koenig and Happ. Wisconsin should be pretty good.

There is absolutely 0% chance that there is not a change in system. No coach is going to run somebody else's system no matter how successful that coach was.

Wisconsin went back to the swing offense. The swing offense that Ryan used. It worked at Wisconsin. Why not use it? And that is exactly what Gard is doing.

Two-play (home and away): Michigan, Penn State, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Purdue.

Home only: Rutgers, Nebraska, Michigan State, Illinois.

Away only: Ohio State, Minnesota, Iowa, Maryland.

Not the hardest conference schedule but much more difficult than last season. Wisconsin and pu should be top 25ish teams. Michigan could see some time in the top 25 as well.

Hopefully, we will pound MSU in the Hall for a little revenge from last season.

O$U and Maryland on the road could be tricky as well.

3-6 losses would be my too early guess for conference play.

Did a quick search...this is Xavier's non-con schedule.

http://www.goxavier.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball

Not as top heavy as ours is going to be (Kansas, UNC, Louisville) but everyone else they have scheduled is likely going to finish over .500 and besides Lehigh play in somewhat competitive conferences. This is what I want IU's non-con schedule to look like on a yearly basis.

Why would he be messing with you? Gard was a Bo Ryan assistant for 23 years. The system will largely be the same.

Different topic, but I would have Wisconsin as the favorite (not by much though) heading into the season.

Just going by the schedules released it looks like Wiscy has road games at pu, MSU, and IU.

I could see the top tier if the conference being..

Wiscy

MSU

IU

With the B1G title on the line the final week of the season. I would have..

pu

Michigan

Maryland

In the chase group just behind the top tier. As always conference scheduled could determine the winner as IUs scheduled helped last season.

If we have a few more losses but have a better SOS/RPI and don't win the B1G I'll be perfectly fine with that.
