being that the B1G is a 14 team league now...

the scheduling factor will play a role in how the league plays out every year...

so another words...I like my odds at the craps table better than I do at predicting how the B1G tiers out...

They lose White, Woodbury gets his last run to poke as many eyes as possible.

what is the over/under in years as to when IU wins a B1G tournament?

I mean...I'm 43 now...am I gonna need to petition St Peter for Dish access??

Do you mean you aren't unplugging, even then?

I'm not giving up my internet access as long as I'm on this planet, and it is accessible...

too many resources at my fingertips...

will I be off the electrical/water/food as you know it grid? probably at some point...

I don't see any way Iu places top 3 this year. Is the talent there? Yes, but this group has done nothing but disappoint. They haven't played well together, hasn't been well coached and hasn't shown they can play one lick of defense. 5th is where I see us, maybe 6th

I could see that too. Especially if we use a starting lineup that includes Yogi, JBJ, RJ and Troy.

In the end it boils down to who gets hurt, what guys work their tails off the hardest to improve over the summer and all that jazz, that said I think there are three levels of talent (first four, second four, the rest):

First four (alphabetically) Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, Purdue

Second four (alphabetically) Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin

9. Illinois

10. Northwestern

11. Nebraska

12. Penn State

13. Minnesota

14. Rutgers

Given what's happened with Maryland adding the woman-beater and IU kicking off its pot smokers, I think Maryland has to be the favorite going in. Of course, Thon could be a difference Maker if he suddenly decides to come to IU. Purdue still needs a PG but holy crap, what size! Michigan State has the most favorable schedule in terms of home/away. Maryland probably has the toughest of the four.

Of the second four, I like Michigan best with virtually everyone returning assuming Spike Albrecht recovers from his hip surgery. Keep an eye on Eye-o-wa with so many guys coming back but I have to wonder if Woodbury will be as effective without graduation-gone White taking away the best defensive big from the opposition. This WILL be the year Bo doesn't finish in the Top Four. (Of course to finish in the top four until last year you only had to be better than 8 teams...now it's 10 and one of those is Maryland).

If Minnesota does finish 13th (and I'm not the only one to predict that) is that the end of Pits Jr. as coach there?

1)Maryland

2)MSU

3)Wisconsin

4)Purdue

5)Michigan

6)Indiana --> Hope this doesn't happen, would be disappointing given the talent on this team.  But until we care about defense, I see no way we are better than 6th

7)Iowa

8)OSU

9)Illinois

10)Northwestern

11)Minnesota

12)Nebraska

13)Rutgers (just to change things up)

14)PSU

Good analysis---your point on scheduling is why in the end I picked IU over Maryland.  All things being equal---which I hope they will be talent--wise, I think our schedule is slightly better than Maryland's.
