Bryant's Impact on Yogi, JBJ & Troy's NBA Decision

Partially, because we (on paper) address one of our only major weakness' in a big way. And we were as good from the 6'7" and under as about anyone in the country.

You don't think #12 wichita state, if they were returning the top 7 and adding Bryant and, maybe maker, wouldn't be top 5?

I think #12 Wichita State and maybe #40 IU are quite different. Yes, I think a team ranked top 15 at the end of the previous season with the nucleus returning and adding two 5* recruits would be deserving of a top 5 preseason ranking.

2011-2012 IU was a top 15ish team at the end of the year. We added a top 5ish recruiting class for the preseason #1 ranking. We finished this year as a top 30-40 team and add a top 20ish recruiting class. Don't think a top 5 preseason ranking is deserved.

They were BARELY, BARELY a better team than us. BARELY.

 

Top 20 class doesn't matter as much as a stud at the position of need. Plus, you gotta see who else is returning for the other teams. If TB was a 6'3" guard, he wouldn't help us much at all, but being 6"10 230 with a motor, he certainly might elevate us pretty well.

 

If everyone returns, I'm expecting 10-15 range, if we don't add Thon.

I still don't see how you take a team who finished 9-9 in the B1G, first round exit, with no GREAT wins (we had some very good ones) and place them in the top 5.

After puke buys their next recruiting class they'll be in the top 5. Arizona loses a few but have a great recruiting class. Depending on what Dekker does Wiscy will be up there. OSU has a strong class coming in, MSU has a few solid recruits. If EVERYTHING breaks IU's way maybe a top 5 preseason ranking but I highly doubt it.

MSU will be good, Davis and likely Swanigan. Dawson and Trice leave though. Maryland will be good. I'd have to think Iowa State will be top 10. If we don't land Thon, I see us being around 16. If we do, I see us bein around 7 or 8.

The night before the Bryant decision I had a dream that he committed to IU. Well last night I had a dream that Yogi announced he was staying, hopefully it works out again today.
