They didn't cut down the nets because "they forgot."  I hate everything about that program.  I would have a lot more respect for them if they A) didn't cheat B) didn't hire a known cheater C) try to deny the fact most hated calicheatmywaytothetop before arriving in Lexington and D) have a history of covering up cheating.  Basically I would respect them if they weren't cheaters.
