So as a Providence alum, I have an interest in the Paoli sectional. I notice that they also host the regional. Do they often do this? Not that I expect Paoli to advance, but this seems dumb. Plus, I prefer going up to Huntingburg for regionals, which is BY FAR a better gym.

At the half, Tipton leads Marion (Vijay Blackmon) 39 - 27.  This is Marion's first year as a 3A school.  In prior years, they were 4A and fed in to the sectional that was comprised of the 3 major Lafayette schools, Logansport and Kokomo.

Marion clawed its way back and won in OT 72 - 69.

This is absolutely hilarious.  Can anyone conceive that this could ever happen in Indiana?

Baskets at GHSA Championships Placed Incorrectly

Macon, Ga. - The basketball goals at this weekend's GHSA State Basketball Championshipsicon1.png were incorrectly placed for all of the championshipicon1.png gamesicon1.png. GHSA Executive Director Gary Phillips confirmed to FOX 5 on Saturday night that the stanchions were placed about a foot farther away from the baseline than regulation.  That means free throws were a foot longer and there was less room underneath the basket.

Phillips told FOX 5 that he was made aware of the problem half way through the slate of games on Saturday, but chose not to correct the issue because the goals on both ends of the court were identically misplaced. Phillips said that he had only heard from one coach from the fourteen teams playing in finalsicon1.png games.

I'll be making my annual pilgrimage to Washington tomorrow am to watch the 3a regional, I've seen some good talent over the years. Zeller×3, Lyles,McIntosh, Wellage (I think). That may not be the case talent wise tomorrow, but still should be some fun games to watch.
