Northwestern pre-game 2/25 7pm

Recommended Posts

I posted my thoughts in another thread accidentally.

NW is on a 3 game winning streak.  Beating Iowa, Minnesota, and 20 pointing Penn State.  They lost many home games by 1-7 points against the better Big Ten teams.  This will be a contest, I fear.

Yogi needs to lock down Demps and not allow the open looks.  I think Rojo can handle McIntosh, or Blackmon even if motivated.  We need Hanner to shut down Olah.  I fear this matchup most as Olah is crafty.  Vic Law is decent, but TWill has that.

Good chance for a road win!  Let's Get It!

Losing more national respect (no votes in AP poll this week)... Winning this game is a must... Doesn't matter where they are ranked in the BIG... A road win in a hostile (maybe) environment will go a long way with perception (a la potential seeding)

If by hostile you mean hostile to NW, then yes, it will be. Hoosier faithful always show up at Northwestern.

Well yes... That's why the (maybe)... Just hoping the national audience (media/experts) can see it as a road game and not a home away from home game if you know what I mean...

Wow....

Mystery solved haha.

On, "The Journey" this week, Crean went up to Hammons after home loss and said "We'll see ya next year, we'll see you next year, I know you'll be back!" Hammons smiles and walks off.

2 mysteries solved. Crean and Hammons will be back. Haha.

Was just thinking about the possible impact of not having Collin. Hurts the smaller lineup because it's possible we could see Troy at the 5 for stretches. Doubt that will happen too often since we have Hanner back, but it takes one more shooting threat off the floor. I'd rather him miss this game than the last two though, so I'm hoping he can get healthy soon.

It was kind of funny, in a sense. He said it with the insinuation, Hammons-you won't get drafted so you will be back. I took it as trash talk sort of. Anyway, who the hell is going to defend Hammons and Haas next year? Careful what you ask for CTC.

Lol I get your point but do you want IU to get a commit right now? It'd be great but most guys aren't making any decisions during the middle of the season... Let it play out...

right, ssq. no, our best options for Center are TBryant or a grad transfer or a CC player. I know, we need to wait, but currently we don't have an answer and Crean's recruiting is not leaving me optimistic as of late. I'm hopeful still though.

Has there been any recruiting news? I might've missed it. Just seems like everyone is in a holding pattern especially re: Thomas Bryant. It will not be a good look if IU doesn't sign a legitimate player or two at that position whether it's a '15/grad transfer. I hadn't though about that possibility; could be an attractive opening. Imo it might help Hanner as much as it would help the perimeter players.
