Indiana Next Year

Recommended Posts

Too far ahead to begin with, but I'm really excited. We have a 4 year starter at Pg. A 2 year starter at the 2,3,&5. And a 3 year starter at the 4. Bench; Hartman, junior -2 years game experience Ziesloft, senior - 3year game experience experience. Johnson, sophomore - 1 year game experience. Holt & Davis, both sophomore (given redshirt) 1 year game experience. Max Hoetzel playing sparingly throughout this year. And then our 4 star(?)...two recruits Morgan and Anunbuoy(sp) with both wingspans 6'10+. We should have no struggle with experience or depth next year. To make us ELITE, I am saying that we need thomas Bryant. I feel very confident in next years team. That being said, no matter the outcome this year, I say Crean NEEDS to stay. All the stars are aligning if you squint your eyes and tilt your head.

I love your optimism. There's no doubt that some good pieces are coming together. Our perimeter should be one of the best backcourts in the nation next year. One of the reasons I'm not as excited for next year as you is because it seems that a couple of the pieces to the puzzle always seem to come up missing. I hope every player you mentioned above is here next year. Experience tells us that it might not happen.

I don't think Thomas Bryant is coming. Hope I'm wrong but if not we need to look for any beast that can rebound and protect the rim if there's one out there. Don't need a lot of scoring. Juco maybe?

It looks like everyone here's written April off at this point.Personally I'd love to see him develop here .

This could have positive impact in several ways including the roster instability and the negative perception it causes with potential recruits with rival coaches in their ear.

Also it would prove we had a staff that can coach a big up.The jury's definitely still out on that one.

I'm definitely not ready to count us out on Tommy B. Unless you really think we can't keep up in a three horse race against the Orange and Cal? We're in good shape on him, he still really likes us, he obviously doesn't care too much about what mama says or UK wouldn't be in the running. Syracuse might be losing scholarships and already has a pretty large 2015 class. Coaching uncertainty is the biggest hurdle for us I think.

Hope your right. Would love to see him here as he is the missing piece for sure.

.Haven't had much luck with players PayPal Cal really wants even the ones committed.

Definitely our biggest issue is a big man, but i'm really excited to see what Hanner will be by next year (even by the end of this season).  He never really got much time on the court in tough games the last 2 seasons, behind the big handsome and Vonleh, so perhaps these more stable and higher minutes will make up for the experiences he's missed as a soph and junior.   Heck, if he keeps improving every day like he has been, we could have a pretty strong front court next year with Holt behind him.  I'd like to think his hands would improve, but i'm being optimistic.

....Heck, if he keeps improving every day like he has been, we could have a pretty

good team in 30 years in the over 50 year old league at the local YMCA.  In fairness to Hanner, he has shown much improvement over last year, but if we don't see even more improvement from him by the end of this season, then I think we're screwed for next year if we're expecting him to be our savior in the middle.  And I apologize to "Scohutch" for selectively picking just which part of his post I wanted to use.  His original post was far more optimistic than mine, but I'm old and cranky and didn't get my nap today.

Same old tired hysteria over recruits. Bigger issue is what does Sir Clapsalot do with it? My guess is no NCAA again this year and top players will continue to leave the state.
