Great stats for the last 3 years

Agreed Rebel. It all comes down to how we defend the paint. We know yogi will cause headaches for the opposing scorer. Blackmon looks like he may have some defensive skills. Rojo also. But, maybe we should be a planning on taking our guards right at the opposing and starting big man to put him in foul trouble instead of just worrying about our problem down low. We definitely know the offensive player gets the benefit of a doubt in those situations. The body fouls are just atrocious but we should use that to our advantage.

Actually some pretty solid tidbits about the program in general. Good read.

Great read, thanks.  I didn't know a lot of those stats.

But it was confusing to read on my old man computer.... ^_^

I agree. Especially when Troy and Stan are back---they along with Yogi, JBJ, and RoJo and maybe even Z3 --- will drive and try to draw fouls and then kick it out when stopped for 3.  We finally have the combination of slashers and shooters to run this type of offense.

Should be fun to watch!

Wait, wait, wait... I thought Crean's teams "rarely exhibit good, winning basketball?" I thought Tom Crean was a lousy offensive coach?

We will probably start another squabble but it sure is good to see an actual fact-- based thread on here for a change.

Facts are stubborn things---they don't lie!  :good:

I would believe it, IU has really had the personnel the last couple of seasons to put up a lot of points.  We were loaded with shooter, slashers, and big men.  Also, I think most people would say that Tom Crean's strong suit would be offense.  He runs a lot of Pro Sets on Offense and often times has to simplify things for Freshmen because he incorperates so many Offensive Plays that it can be hard for the youngsters to to remember them all.

IU just won a Big Ten championship. Not even Knight did that in the "modern" era. It's why he's not coaching today.

that is weak and uncalled for. They barely won that and it shouldn't have even been close and then continued to play like crap to end the season in very dissapointing fashion should have been beat by temple. Who cares what knight did?

This is weak if I've ever seen weak. You're actually trying to lessen the validity of a B1G Championship. Plus, the way we won it was storybook. We walked into Michigan and took it. It was an incredible game.

We can all recognize Crean's faults and failures as a coach, but some of you don't want to acknowledge the fact that he is the most successful coach IU has had in about 20 years, including Knight's final decade at the helm.

Everyone who has said that he is responsible for what has happened this past year because he recruited and coaches these players. He also recruited and developed the players that brought this program back into a respectable position in 2012 and 2013.

He has been highly disappointing as a coach this past season, but let's not try to discredit what he has done right.
