Just going to say it now, and hope that in a little over 24 hours it looks silly: OSU teams under Chris Holtmann are soft. They give up big runs and typically don't respond well, they haven't been good in tight games and they blow on defense. I saw they were up 20-7 on Penn State midway through the first half and thought to myself, this will be a close game by the half. 28-23 now.

Of course they weathered our second half run, tied up the game, and won in over time. Sadly….

Yep, we're worse than they are at closing games, and they're bad at it. Buckeyes were mental midgets down the stretch; PSU looked like the tougher team. Seems to be a recurring problem with Holtmann's teams.

I think Shrewsbury is going to be a problem going forward until he gets poached. He seems like he has “it”. Chambers kinda did too, but could never really get over the hump with much more talented teams. Shrewsbury brings the toughness with the coaching ability to close games like tonight.

Thought he had the potential to replace Woodson. Great experience working with painter at Purdue and Stevens in nba. He’s originally from indiana and wife is an iu alum.

He also has a son who I think is a top 100 recruit in '23. Probably good for us that he left Purdue when he did.
