lillurk Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 The OSU/Holtmann late game execution failures are weird if you remember 2019, when his team was more experienced but less talented than IU, and won both games by a combined 7 points. Flip one outcome and IU probably made the tournament instead of OSU. In the game at IU he drew up a SLOB for a game-winning backdoor cut and dunk that burned Archie’s unwillingness to adapt his defense to the circumstances. Quote

They keep Holtmann... Because Ohio State has the money and resources to become great again. Do you really want that? JF87 1 Quote

That was the play where Justin Smith flat out got burnt. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Mountain West hoops ... Nevada taking San Jose State to the woodshed in a matchup of former B1G coaches. 49-24 at halftime. Wolf Pack is coached by our very own beloved Steve Alford, while SJSU is coached by Tim Miles. Uspshoosier and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Nevada now up by 42 about 5 minutes into the second half. Good lord -- what an ugly basketball game. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I didn't see this yesterday. Sad news from the land of our top rivals. My brothers and dad went to PU, so we were always watching their games (in addition to IU's) when I was a kid. Dude was essentially a bodybuilder-turned-basketball player. Not terribly skilled, but worked like crazy -- and he sure had one great season. (BTW -- this is just a cut and paste of the tweet. Since Twitter changed, I haven't figured out how to embed tweets -- though I noticed many here still can). Class of '66 Old Fart and lillurk 1 1 Quote

str8baller Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 I’m seeing Kansas as +1.5 dog today. I wonder when the last time Kansas was an underdog at Phog? Especially to a conference team. Quote

Yeah, don’t totally disagree but Wesson ghosts a screen and Smith gets caught flat-footed, trying to hedge it like the packline does. The other Wesson is lifted so there’s no defender in the lane, weak side action means the help from the opposite corner is late. Smith should’ve played it differently…but really CAM should’ve changed to switch everything for the possession, or switch 1-4. Quote

Need to road win at Kentucky and needs to beat St Mary’s at least once to get one in my opinion. I got them 6 or 7 away from being last 4 in Quote
