I look for JBJ and Rojo to shine.  I'm also hoping that my new favorite player -- MSB/Vanilla Prilla -- quiets the critics as he's got 2 attributes that we need now more than ever:  (1) he can flat out shoot and (2) he's a legit 6' 9''.

He's a shooter for sure but the 6'9'' thing  seems kind of a moot point right now.

In Canada and high school, from the video Ive seen he's a pretty poor rebounder. This team is really going to miss Devin in that respect.

I'm sure Prilla the Thrilla is aware of this and is working on improving in that area. This is a great opportunity ,alas from terrible circumstances for him  to show he's valuable to the squad.

As I recall, we won exhibitions easily in Crean's first couple of years here and we didn't have anyone as talented as Yogi, JBJ, Rojo, and Hanner.  Also, I may have to buy my son a MSB jersey.  If Crean (or whoever replaces him) recruits over him, I am going to be LIVID!!

This is NOT true. Oladipo saved us one game with a four point play with under :30 seconds to go. We ended up winning in overtime. Heck, Grace College led us for most of the first half in 2010. This will NOT be an easy game.

I actually LOVE this starting lineup for the exhibition games:

  • Yogi
  • JBJ
  • RoJo
  • Zeisloft
  • Perea

Gets all of those guys some experience playing for IU early on and gets their nerves out of the way.  It's a huge opportunity for a bunch of these guys to get some playing time while 90% of our team is suspended.

ya a lot of people are writing these games off that our guys are being suspended but i could see us dropping one of these games....

I don't feel like they are being written off, it's just that there is enough talent left in the rotation that the odds of success are still greatly in our favor. Just as long as the team goes in and takes it like a B1G game and not expect a cake walk

Looks like the only option is BTNPlus. I'll keep an eye out for anything that pops up. The replay will be on BTN Saturday @ 430pm ET.

thanks I hope its on 1070 on Iheart but most of the time its a blackout and just plays the same message over and over

I'm feeling some anxiety about the game, more from the crowd than anything.  I hope that the fans are supportive of the team. I'm not expecting a big crowd, but hope we play well for the ones that are there (myself included!).

These two exhibition games are pretty important not winning but getting this small group familiar with them in a game situation. I know the team new the players they would have but we didnt. I cant wait to listen to it tomorrow and get prepared for a great season of iu basketball.

A kid I went to highschool with plays guard for northwood and the kid can play he drew some d1 interest. He will most likely be guarding jbj and James will have his hands full guarding him if someone else doesn't guard him. His name is Dylan langkabel

That name rings a bell. I'm going to have to look him up

Seems like Ferris State was the opponent for that Oladipo coming out party, they are in the same conference as Northwood

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Glad to see some actual basketball talk on here after a rough few days. I was looking at Northwood's roster and they are 17 deep (idk about any possible injuries). Obviously the talent levels aren't comparable, but if I were Northwood's coach I would try to run the Hoosiers into the ground. Full court press all game long, run after every rebound, and just wear us out. It might be a really long 40 minutes for those 8 guys.

Luckily, we plan to run, so we'd be more suited to handling that, than a half-court focused team.

You're probably right.  I am concerned about conditioning though.  Wasn't Crean just talking about how the players were still only in "practice shape" just a week ago?  Having another body will definitly help though if Hartman is playing.
