I have a soft spot for Ex-players and also some current pro players being so invested in this current team and the program.  It warms my heart..... :)

Also, the Crean-era former players (NOT ex-players) earned the right to be invested in the current team/program by living through the rebuilding process. Arguably, they are also the ones suffering the most - they brought the program back, and now are seeing the signs of it slipping back.
