Dunk Contest at Hoosiers Hysteria

Recommended Posts

Looks like you're in agreement with Dan Dakich. He was bashing the whole candy stripes thing saying that players around his time didn't care at all about the pants, just the jerseys.
He apparently declined being in the candy stripe video for that reason.

Nah I'm saying why not both.

Nate winning the dunk contest is an upset but Max winning the 3 point contest isn't much of an upset. In a contest between Nate, Troy and Hanner, Nate wins 1/10 times, I would say max's odds to win the 3 point contest is much greater.

I can't wait to see what these guys put together this year and together is key. Troy helping Hanner underneath is going to be key

I liked when Sidney was interviewing Max and he just said I don't loose 3 point contests! The kids got a confident way about him bordering cockiness, kind of like Will did.

I like it.

I actually thought the dunk contest was actually a let down. I felt like they really rushed the whole thing. I think the choice of judges  seemed like they asked them 5 minutes before. Having the two little kids was probably not the greatest idea hahah

It's straight cockiness. Believe me haha.

In a positive way I can't wait for him to be put in his place when B1G season rolls around.

I think he'll look good in pre-conference games and be way too cocky, but then really quick in conference play realize he isn't strong enough or quite skilled enough. Hopefully it pushes him to work harder and prepare himself to be able to produce by the end of the season.

Yeah I just feel like he's someone that's never been put in his place or anything like that. It's definitely not making him many friends on campus.

I'm talking about him on a personal level. I'm sure he's taking his lumps in practice.

A lot of players have that-- I am better than you attitude---the truly great ones back it up on the floor.  We shall see.

In general--it's an attitude I am not a big fan of as I like the humble warriors better. But---anyone who has coached will tell you they like to have a few bad boy warriors on the team to bring that toughness to rub off on the humble warriors too--- and to get the team fired up.

Humility's one thing Timidity something completely different. We had too much of that last year.

Show fear or indecision on the court you get eaten alive.

Not sure Dan is still a fan. Dogged the team last year quite a bit.

Dan Danish bashed the team last year for good reason. He did radio with fisher for michigan state game and he was a iu fan all the way. The candy stripe pants has been a focal point under crean but is just a marketing angle and I like it but dakich doesn't I respect his opinion. I think people forget he is from a different era of iu basketball like some of the posters on here are and we wont see things the same way but lets face it there hasn't been a lot of positives recently so not giving him a lot to brag up about us
