Oh no doubt he struggled elsewhere, especially in Charlotte. This is his home and he is very fortunate to be given another chance. Looks like he's taking advantage of it so far.

I hope he does. I'm not a fan of his but I sure enjoyed watching him get beat by Miami several times a few years ago :) but honestly I don't root for any player to fail and lose their job/livelihood.

Actually he'd been injured which is why both the Pelicans and T-Wolves let him go. You can't deny the impact he's had these two games, and it goes way beyond just his stats. He's what this team needed, a little bit of fire and competitiveness.

A circus act is good for a few nights but it get old fast

Pacers fans love him, he has brought us a fight that this team lacked all season. No fire, no intensity, no will to fight back. He has sparked us just in time to hopefully get into the playoffs.

I'm a pacers fan. Rather than circus acts to distract from the complete failure of this team I would prefer meaningful change.

Not that this makes you wrong, but you're vastly outnumbered in that opinion. He got a standing ovation twice tonight and the crowd went crazy when he was doing his thing. I think you can see a meaningful change in the two games he's played in. This team is different with him.

Oh I know I just don't think it lasts. A jolt of energy is great here and there you get too much and it kills you. He's a circus act complete counter to the concept of team. And we do not have enough talent to win consistently playing any other way.

Teams hold onto injured players all the time. He is way too much baggage which is why nobody else wants him. Bird is just trying to remind people about the good ole times when we lost in the ECF multiple times versus the crap show he has fielded this.

I can not believe we fired Vogel for this garbage.

I was not a fan of the Nate hire and feel the same now. Terrible. I liked this signing though. The team was not meshing and had no fight. You had to try something. And bringing back a fan favorite (for the most part obviously) who has the traits that this team lacks seemed like a great move to me. You are correct that Lance can't fit just anywhere. It has to be the right fit, and so far Indiana (both then and now) have been the right fits.

I would have been perfectly ok signing him to a deal for the remainder of the year.  2 years to me is just nonsense.

It's essentially just next season unless that goes well and then we get him for another year at a very reasonable deal.

Or his me, me, me and also me attitude starts to cause problems this offseason and we have to cut him to save what little team cohesion we have.  His track record hints that is more than likely the outcome we see
