Real Order Of Finish In Big Ten/Prediction

Hoosier Nation---That Sporting News article picking us 10th in the Big Ten for the 2014-2015 season is ridiculous and has fired us up---hopefully it is doing the very same thing to the team!

 

What is your real prediction of where we will finish in the Big Ten standings?

 

I pick us 5th! 

 

I would like to go higher but we are young and the Big Ten will be strong as usual. I think we will be tied with another team or two in that 5th position.

I have no order of finish as of yet, but I will say this...

 

better watch out for Northwestern and Minnesota this year,

Illinois is on the rise as well...

Nebrasketball will catch some on their heels,

but Wisconsin is gonna make all the rest smell.

Seems about right to me. Its unsettling to see us listed this low in year seven of Crean, but its not like they have some unfounded agenda against us. They looked at returning strengths, incoming recruits, and lost players to draft or transfer, etc... to make their assessment on the coming year. There are many up and comers in our league including Minn, ILL and Neb to go along with the usual suspects. Hopefully we can use this as motivation but Crean will have to come up with creative gameplanning to have a top half B1G finish. Maybe this is where all the former head coaches on our staff will benefit us although I see them more as insulation from the obvious.

I just can't put Indiana too high right now. Last year's team was awful and I don't want to get caught overhyping this one too.

I do, however, expect a better year and a tournament appearance at minimum, but I'm keeping my excitement in check for now.

I agree that at a minimum--- we have to make an NCAA tournament appearance this year.  There is also a chance now that with more Big Ten teams in the league--- there could actually be another bid or two more than usual for the conference---especially if it is a competitive year.

 

I am also glad we have improved our pre-conference strength of schedule as that could be the difference come Selection Sunday for which Big Ten teams go dancing  and which Big Ten teams stay home.
