The "Heat" are in town

Recommended Posts

Ha! I saw Norris Cole walking down kirkwood with a couple of other people this morning. Thought he looked really familiar and couldn't figure it out for the longest time. I wonder why they're in town?

Says a lot for how Tom Crean is viewed amongst those in the NBA as someone who develops players.

Among them: Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, Dwyane Wade, Mario Chalmers, Udonis Haslem, Norris Cole and Josh McRoberts.

Current IU players can't participate, but per sources, a host of NBA guys will be in Bloomington over the next 72 hours working out.

Are they allowed to interact to any degree, ie. outside of the gym?

I believe the players can play with NBA players in pick up games and what not, but not with any Coaches present. Since they are coming here to work with Crean, the players can't interact with them on this trip.

That could be VERY wrong, but that is my understanding.

I don't know any other reason for all of them to come to Bloomington other than to work with Crean. Not confirmed, just don't see why else they would do it.

I don't know the rules, but if what's been posted is accurate, then why not just have Crean step out when they switch from drills to 5-on-5 pickup and the current players come in to play?

I'll have to possibly rearrange some things on my work calendar.

Ever wonder what DWade would look like in IUB gear?

@DwyaneWade: We just had a great 3 days of getting better and going back to the basic and fundamentals of the game.… http://t.co/wivZLniwke
