For him? Yes. For us? It's an overpay. But we likely would have overpaid to replace him so it evens out. The market for CB is hot so they're all likely to make bank.

NFL free agency related

 

Broncos signed Aqib Talib at 6 year/57 million with 26 million guaranteed.  Wow, that is an overpay for a guy that will play 6 or 7 weeks then miss 2 or 3 with a chronic hip problem.

 

La Canfora has also reported that Revis wants to go to New England.  Well, if they somehow pull that off they won't miss Talib a bit.

Also a general free agency comment: The Browns are a few pieces away (finding a QB is a pretty big piece) from running the AFC North. They made a couple big moves on the defensive side yesterday. Not sure what they will do about a QB though.

Revis signed with NE, 1 year/12 million.

 

That's not an unreasonable amount considering the caliber of corner he is, and they upgraded from Talib.

Well, Schefter reported it's done but Revis's business manager said not yet.  Could be just trying to finalize all the details, I don't see Schefter saying it if it wasn't happening.

 

The franchise tag for Talib would've been that much, and he signed with Denver for 9.5.  Yeah, that's a great deal.
