Really excited about Troy and Stan. I expect both to start again this year and hopefully they both have been busy this summer (I'm sure they have been). A decent 3 point shot could do wonders for both, as well as cutting down on the TO's, which I feel will be helped more with a year of experience now under their belts.
I know that Troy has been working on his jump shot, specifically three point, and Stan has been as well and working on ball handling too. Both have posted videos/pictures on Instagram.

I don't know if this comparison has been made by somebody else, but I am hoping (prematurely and overly optimistically mind you) that our team is similar to the UCONN team last year. Now when I say this I mean in structure not necessarily in production or result.

Look at the pieces that will be in play next year: IU would have both a high scoring, veteran 1 and a (possibly if not probably) high scoring, freshman 2 guard; a rebounding and blocking machine that is long and athletic (that is if HMP puts in the work and develops like we are all hoping he does) that doesn't need to score a ton of points; and athletic forwards catching passes from the high producing guards. Sprinkle in some good shooting bench players and the team could produce some Ws.

The only wild card in this model is the production of Troy Williams. His production could easily sky rocket this year, in my opinion.

This is all just speculation and overly optimistic views, but isn't that the whole point of the off season? Just thought I'd share what me and my friends talk about when visiting the old watering hole after work in the optimistic thread!

I love the optimistic view of next season.  I share some of those views, but also know this team will still be really young, turnover prone and will probably lack the killer instinct you need to win those close games.  All that being said, I can't wait for basketball season to finally get here!

I know for a fact that TW had been working all summer because I barely saw him. When he was on break, there was no break. He was in Houston more than he was home. So like you all, I am expecting a change in him. It started with the end of last season in the last couple of games. Now it's time to pick it up from there and move on. About the TO's, I praying there aren't as any because I can't bring myself to day NONE! He had matured on court and off court and for right now that's all I ask and that he keeps his eyes focused on Academics and Basketball. So far, that's what we've seen.

It absolutely did.

I noticed the transformation in Troy, Stan and Devin in a loss that left me feeling like we had won: The Illinois road game to end the season. Troy especially, and all three of the freshmen overcame a bad third quarter and looked like complete, mature players down the game's stretch, even though the comeback fell short in that game.

The thing is, our shooters aren't JUST shooters. We don't have any Matt Roth type guys who can only shoot (not hating on Matt), except for possibly Hoetzel. Yogi, JBJ, and Robert are all overall scorers, they are all more than capable at penetrating if their shot isn't falling. And if Troy and Stan have improved their 3 point shooting to at least make defenders respect them that will make us even more dangerous.

Quick question that anyone can answer. I'm new here (posting wise), and when I go to reply to someone else the post I'm replying to doesn't show up on my screen once I've replied. Is that some kind of glitch?

Are you on a PC or mobile? Been noticing peeps qouting and nothing showing up and I think your problem has happened before. I sent this up the chain of command.
