Favorite "Wow" Moment In IU Basketball History and Recently

Recommended Posts

Everyone saying watching Oladipo grow in general need to up their games!

#1 Oladipo "wow" moment has to be his 4 point play followed by game saving block against Ferris State in the first exhibition game of his career. Knew from that moment the kid was gonna do big things.

The fact that we were ever in that position is painful.

Those exhibitions are always dicey. Coaches play weird lineups and give minutes to guys who would normally never see the floor. On top of that for the DII team it is like the Super Bowl. Every year it seems one or two high major teams and sometimes even a ranked team lose one of those games.

Just glad we won that one on that day and it was very cool to see Oladipo make his first statement. Later in that week Zeller decided to be a Hoosier.

That was our last year being terrible, so it wouldn't have been all that surprising to lose. Would've just added more insult to the nearly healed injury.

2002 Duke tourney win was Amazing. I was hosting a party on campus. Half of us were glued to the tv. The other half figured we were going to lose no matter what. All eyes were on the TV for the last 10 minutes. We then stormed Kirkwood with all other students. Unbelievable night!

My favorite wow moment is when Matt Nover threw me into a lake his right before his senior season, because another player told him I said "Matt Nover sucks." The next summer his had a role in the movie "Blue Chips" as a "white, blue collar athlete."

Or one you guys might remember, Todd Leary coming off the bench in the NCAA tournament vs Duke with Cheaney, Graham, Bailey, & Henderson all fouled out. The young freshman comes in late in the raining threes but unfortunately the Hoosiers fell short this game.

The sequence of plays made by VO at OSU. Reverse layup off attempted alley-oop pass, and then the monster running dunk off the rebound. Announcing was great, and I remember Thomas getting out of VO's way when he came to make that dunk lol, love it!

Or his sequence vs. OSU at Assembly his Sophomore year right before half. I still say that the crowd during that is the single loudest noise I've ever heard in my life.

I'd also like to add the WatSwat. The play obviously made me say "WOW" (I was there :) ) But what made me say it even louder, was that who knew CWat had the ups to get that block?

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
