If my Astros don't win it this year, I'm rooting for the Royals.

I like what the Astros have, but they're a year or two ahead of schedule. You should just be happy that they're over .500 after the past few years :)

Oh no doubt. They are way ahead of schedule. I won't be disappointed if they miss the wild card even as they are so young. Doesn't mean I won't be rooting for them to win the effing thing though!!!!!!!!! ;) ;)

Royals traded Finnegan, their 1st round pick last year who was a part of their bullpen during the WS run.

In my opinion, Cueto wasn't worth trading Finnegan for if he doesn't end up signing an extension.

Steep price. Hate to see what Hammels or Price bring in.

According to Heyman one deal has been rejected because of what the Phillies asked for.

From the Cubs they wanted one of Russell or Bryant. Then they wanted Baez or Castro. They wanted those two plus 3 top 5 prospects last I heard from the Cubs. Nobody in their right mind would consider the first two tiers then add a Scwarber, Torres, McKinley type. I would rather go after Price.

That just made me puke in my mouth. Hamels isn't worth KB or Addy in this, or any, universe. Let alone the rest of what they wanted. To me anyways.

From the Yankees they wanted a package that included Luis Severino or Aaron Judge (a 2013 first round pick already in AAA).  Apparently Severino, Judge, Greg Bird and Jorge Mateo are off limits.

As a lifelong Yankees fan, I'm glad that one was rejected.

The Yankees are the last team I want them to trade with. Judge or Severino are about the only ones that would be worth while to head a package for Hamels.

I'm interested to see what Mateo can be, he's got nearly 70 stolen bases on the year.  Bird I'm not sure about, he can hit but he's got an injury history and he's 1B/DH type.

I think he'll be good but with Crawford that isn't a pressing need. I'm iffy on Bird I've only seen a little of him and he reminded me of a lesser Jim Thome.(I've seen very little of him though so I could be wrong)

With Bird I'm hesitant because I think of Nick Johnson, a 1B/DH type that can hit pretty good when healthy but is never healthy.  I'd personally be a little a more resistant to deal Refsnyder than Bird, and Refsnyder needs to work on his defense at 2B; granted, that could be me wanting to never ever ever ever see Stephen Drew or Brendan Ryan step to the plate ever again.

Since we're not winning this year, (I hate to say it) but just sign Price in the offseason if we want him. Or maybe get a Jordan Zimmerman without having to give anybody up.
