Teter's great. You can walk to anywhere on campus.

What building are you in?

They haven't told me yet. I should get that info at the end of the month or beginning of next month. I have a lot to learn about teter, I was anticipating somewhere in northwest. But from what I've seen teter seems amazing.

If its still set up the way it was when I went, its one floor of guys sandwiched between 5 floors of women.

That was a great year.[/quote]

Let's hope I'm so fortunate!

I was Foster-Martin too...1997. :)

3rd floor, next to the RA, which was next to the lounge. No clue on the room number.

Ah, memories. Our RA was at the end of the hall by stairs. He had a habit of bringing his girlfriend to his room and she was quite....vocal... during their "dates". One night, the whole floor gathered outside his room and applauded upon their completion, lol. My room was in the corner- had to be careful coming out of room because we'd drive golf balls from the other end into the wall by my room!

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Can't believe I just stumbled onto this thread. Clearly I need to check out the OTF more often!

I graduated in '04 and lived in Teter Thompson my freshman year. To give you an idea how much campus has changed since I was a freshman, my floor was a smoking floor. Back then it definitely wasn't as glamorous as the NW dorms, but it was a great location with a Dagwood's across the street.

Anyone know if that little barber shop is still in that strip right across 10th St? When I was there it had 3 barbers, all from the the same family and representing 3 generations of the family. As a freshman I didn't appreciate how cool that was, but I did appreciate the sailor-like humor every time I went in there.

There has been a ton of great advice/tips/etc in this thread. I agree with what a few have mentioned - it was really hard to truly appreciate the experience as it happened, but not now. Ten years after graduating I still miss it like I just left, and most of my closest friends are those I met at IU.

I'm getting awfully long winded here, so I'll cut it off, but with one last opinion regarding the bars. For me nothing topped Nick's. It was the hardest to get into before turning 21 (Sports and Kilroy's were the easiest back then), but it was well worth the wait.

Enjoy your first year!
