Vonleh Leaning Towards NBA Draft

Recommended Posts

even if you aren't willing to admit Crean is bad at in-game coaching you have to admit his roster management is brutal

we had no shooters this year

and now we have no bigs going into next year

this is devastating but it's the smart move on Noah's part

people always say oh well look at the difference between what the #2 pick got and what the #12 pick got, he should wait a year and enter the draft in a less talented class!

ummm no the money in the NBA isn't made in the rookie contract. The difference between the #2 and #12 pick is negligible when all that matters is hitting free agency a year earlier in a player's life span. That's where the money is made

good luck Noah you were a beast for most of the season and you seemed like a great kid. It's a shame our coach wasn't able to take advantage of your talents to a greater extent. You were on the bench far too often

Your right the money isn't made in that rookie contract IF they hit free agency.  Look at the average life span of a NBA player.  The difference between 2 and 12 is actually pretty large if it is the only contract he sees.  $5 Million sounds like a lot, but after taxes in some places, he could see as little as $2 million in LA.  I hope not, but it sounds like he will be in the D-League next year if he goes to the NBA.  I didn't figure he would be back, but he is less prepared and more raw than Vic and Cody.  Congrats to him for getting paid.

Said this 25 games ago.

Yep, and when he protected himself the last couple of weeks it was obvious.  Hope the kid gets on Boston.  I think Brad Stevens would be great for him since he is used to college kids.

Look at the bright side! Crean has a reason to say it's not his fault next year! And, the apologists will be sure to mention it after every loss, of which there will be many. It's great from a certain point of view.
