North Carolina storms the court!!!

Recommended Posts

Didn't really have a problem with us getting stormed. It's good material for debate. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in the second half when they busted out a zone and Bari couldn't guard a tephone pole. Plus getting stormed is a sign of respect.

Loved it. UNC having a weird season. #5 Duke. I think whenever the home team wins in that series, the students should rush regardless because it's awesome.

Yeah that is true. We get stormed after almost every loss on an opponents floor. It used to bother me but not so much anymore. You better fill the whole damn court though.

Best conversation of my life when talking with a friend about finding a job out in California, went just like this:

Friend in San Francisco: "So where'd you go to school again, UK?"

Me: "No! I went to IU!"

Friend in SF: "Ohhhh okay I thought you said Kentucky. Yeah, you should be fine then."

Kentucky
No fan base was more indignant over Thursday night's events than Big Blue Nation, but it turns out Kentucky also has a dirty little secret from the '70s it would have preferred to keep hidden.
Kentucky Sports Radio dug up this picture of Wildcat fans storming the floor inside old Memorial Coliseum following an 86-81 over Tennessee in 1973. It was the final home game of the season for Kentucky, which eventually lost to Indiana in the Mideast Regional final.

"Thanks to Oscar Combs’ memory and some heavy digging by @KaptialCat in the wayback machine, we now know that Kentucky fans rushed the court following a Senior Day win over Tennessee in 1973. It was an 86-81 victory for the Cats in the final game of the 1972-73 season in Memorial Coliseum. Kevin Grevey led all scorers with 28 points, followed by Jimmy Dan Conner’s 23 and 19 from Jim Andrews. Mike Flynn and Ronnie Lyons were the only two other Wildcats to score with 10 and 6 respectively.
Act like you’ve been there before?"

"Didn't happen in the internet era, so it doesn't really count!"

Sadly, some UK fans actually use this argument that if it didn't happen in the current age of social media then it doesn't count. Not going to get into all the double standards this brings up, because they are numerous to say the least

Quick question, what is more prevalent on the UK campus, social media or social diseases?

How about social ineptitude?

Also my mom dated Mike Flynn for a brief period. He's pretty much a....Wildcat. Ugh.

Yeah, but he was Mr Basketball for Indiana, and fairly loved down here in southern Indiana...

and his son was an icon at Jeff High...and had a solid career as a walk on at UofL...

so, no shame in that.
