Indiana @ Nebraska Post Game Thread

Basketball is really not supposed to be this difficult. The more talented team should win 9 out of 10 times and we are definitely the more talented team. Same story with NW and the first Illinois game. It comes down to coaching as the only explanation. We have 5* burger boys and other high rated recruits looking like imbeciles on the court. Only one place to lay the blame.

Embarrissing loss tonight! I feel like i am the only person that wonders what is going on with the line ups. Seems like we have a different starting 5 every game anymore. I'm pretty sure everyone that was dressed tonight got some minutes. I don't see how the team can gel when Crean is constantly substituting. Not sure that our best players are getting the minutes. Just seems like Crean is trying to please everyone right now instead of focusing on coaching to win...

He put in Evan Gordon, Devin Davis, and Hanner Perea with the game on the line.  And.  Stuck.  With them.  No our best players were not in the game.

He got out coached by a coach that was tweeting at halftime.  He should have to apologize for that.

Yeah he should apologize, very embarrissing for the players, the school and for us. I'm actually wondering if we can even make the NIT at this point...

This loss devastates me.  I was born, raised and live in Madison, Wi.  I have been a Huge Indiana fan for over 30 years.  This game was so huge for me.  With overrated Wisconsin and unexplainable Ohio St. Losing this week, we missed an enormous opportunity to clog the top half of the conference.  You have no idea how much crap I'm going to take over this.  I will not stop defending my Hoosiers but it's getting damn hard guys.  Did that 2nd half just happen?  What the heck were those lineups with under 5 min? Why all the standing at half court with the ball, staring at the clock running with 2 min? Geez man!  Was the 2-3 zone just invented today? Looked like we had never seen it before.  Personally think IU will beat Michigan and now it won't mean a thing.  Please tell me we have a better team than this.  What's going on?

Haha... I think we beat Michigan too.  Shows how crazy this team is, also shows how crazy we are!

Totally crazy team.  After the Wisconsin game (thank you for that by the way) I thought the fellas had finally become the team I knew was in there.  Maybe my expectations were inflated, but I figured If we just win the ones we are supposed to, and lose the ones we are supposed to, then we're sitting pretty come March, RPI be damned.  Now I wonder if NW, ILL, and NB were supposed to be wins?  I hate doing it but I'm sitting here thinking about what could have and should have been.  Now, instead of playing solidly in 3rd and contending, we have to beat MU to preserve a shot at the NIT.  Which I'm sure they will do in an effort to further confuse me.

Don't wonder if NW, UI, and NEB were supposed to be wins.  They absolutely should've been wins.

Don't always agree with you but I'm 100% with you on this. We should not be losing to those three on any court. This year is crean's worst coaching job while at Indiana. This team doesn't respond to him, they look unprepared at times and don't seem to communicate much on the floor. This isn't a great team but they should be a lot better than this.

Took some time to cool off. In the half court, when you piss away the shot clock then give the ball to Yogi and pray something good happens, these are the results you should expect. You can talk about sub patterns, turnovers, whatever. We don't have a SHOOTER. That's the missing puzzle piece. Put JB2 on this team and the results would be significantly different. I try my best to be supportive of our kids, but can someone tell me why Williams starts? He has done NOTHING! I just don't see it. I'm so tired of hearing how athletic he is, athleticism doesn't put points on the board. We are better off with Jeremy. Go Hoosiers.

To be fair, I think there's more to the Stan side of things. He got hurt late in the first half and I believe that had something to do with his lack of playing time in the second.

My one thing with that was he came back relatively quickly to game action. And he played at the end, and neither time looked like he was in pain or feeling anything from the hard fall. I don't want to say I hope that is what was going on, because that would mean some kind of injury, but I mean, there has to be some reason he barely played in the second half after the first half he had

Furthermore, I know Stan has done some nice things lately, but I feel Gordon is a better option at the 2. He is a better defender, better shooter, and makes his free throws. Increased minutes would build his confidence. Ok I feel better now. Go Hoosiers!
“@dandakich: Hoops..IU's Vonleh and Robinson need to never come out..Purdue's players don't respect their culture of toughness..Spike Albrecht has sack”
Seems like Dakich agrees with most peoples thought of Stan and Noah.

I think it's safe to say that, aside from Yogi and Noah, Stan is the best player on this team, right?

If yes, then why does he play 6 2nd half minutes when it appears that his injury wasn't serious?

If no, I'd really like to hear your opinion.

To be fair, Troy's "athleticism" helped him pull down 6 boards in the first 2-3 minutes of the game. He definitely can be a loose cannon, but when he is rebounding like that, I'm ok with him being in.

Eh, my thing is Gordon hasn't really earned more minutes with his recent play. He was horrible from the field in the NW and Illinois games, and last night really wasn't a ton better. At this point  I think we should be past building a guys confidence, and just put our best players on the court as much as possible, and hope they can make some postseason tournament

ive read quite a few comments on different sites, but to those who think JB2 is the cure for this team is absolutely wrong. Im quite sure we will be seeing noah leave this year, unless he just comes out flat every game. Yes we will have a shooter but thats not going to help, and by all means im not taking away what JB2 can do, he is so talented and im so glad hes coming to IU, but just having a shooter is not going to solve anything. We NEED  a BIG man, no question. We need to utilize him, feed the post, play the paint, and having a shooter on top of that would be wonderful, but until then JB2 is not going to solve our problem.
