Indiana vs MSU Post Game Thread

Good effort by our boys. Sucks to lose, but I expected worse. Really don't get the "Keep away from Vonleh" game plan? Hardly touched the ball in the 2nd half, inexcusable.

2-4 sucks in the Big10. Have to find something else to work!

Loved the heart and effort just pissed off we were in position to win and the second half gameplan was a joke. Noah barely gets the ball and Hollowell doesn't see the court. Feel bad for the guys once again GREAT effort. Props to Jeremy for showing out tonight on D.

Good effort, but unfortunately that doesn't count. It's still a loss and we're still 2-4 in conference.

Noah needs to get the ball more, but that won't happen with this offense. Yes, it's the offense because it's been the same way for 3 years now.

Noah not getting the ball in the 2nd half shouldn't come as a surprise. That's happened in most games from what I remember.

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

21-6 run.... Zero timeouts called during that span. I'm not critiquing,I just honestly don't understand why you wouldn't call a timeout and settle the troops.

The crowd got loud, Harris hit a three, got louder, three point play, got louder, three point play, blew the roof off the place. Hoosiers looked defeated and disoriented during that stretch. Why would a coach not call a timeout to settle everyone down? Especially just to calm the crowd down. Coaches do it against IU in Assembly hall all the time.

How do you reply? Yours seem to always do this.

Yogi was horrible, selfish, 4-13 FGs, had only 3 assists, all 3 were in the first 10 minutes of the game, 3 TOs. Noah needs to get the ball WWWWWWAAAAYYYYY more. Howard and AE did nothing but hurt this team, Howards rebounding was pathetic to watch, as were AEs TOs. Jeremy looked lost on offense as usual but played very good D, yet our stud of a coach played Howard, AE, DD, and Hanner over him the whole 2nd half (GENIUS). Our halfcourt "offense" is a complete and utter joke, no movement at all, NEVER GETS THE BALL DOWN LOW ( HAPPENED WITH ZELLER TOO). If Vonleh leaves (I would if I were him) and Hanner has to start next year were are doomed, he is still horrible. Crean got outcoached once again (BIG SURPRISE), MSU went on a 20+ -6 run and guess how many TOs Crean used, thats right, ZERO.

This loss sucks....We had the lead late in the game 46-41 and then the team literally crapped their collective diapers.

We got away from the solid 1st half-D, driving to the lane and picking up fouls, feeding the ball to NV, etc...

We instead starting shooting stupid 3s, playing lackadaisical on D, stopped going for rebounds, etc....

I want to know what possessed CTC to not play JH hardly at all in the 2nd half when he brought it in the 1st. He had a couple bad TOs, but his positives far out-weighed the negatives tonight.

I'm disappointed we didn't bring this against NW, or else we'd be 13-6 right now.

Tough loss to swallow, but (and it's a big but) if we play like this we can win the next 3 games and be back in the hunt for a tourney bid.

I don't think Jeremy looked lost on offense but he looked rusty. He had some nice passes for scores and added a couple nice buckets.

I thought JH played well in his return. Maybe his conditioning was off a little from his absence?

Eh, JH looked better offensively tonight than he has all year against other top competition. He actually made some strong moves to the basket, and called for the ball in the post (Something I can't recall him ever doing before tonight).

Agreed on not getting why in the heck Howard was in the game late over JH who was playing well during the game

Ya I agree that could be it. I am actually very excited to see what he brings to the table against the Illini.
Saw people on the game thread blaming Noah's lack of touches in the second half as the reason we lost, along with smatterings of Yogi being selfish for putting up jump shots and poor clock management. Here is what I saw in the game: 14 missed layups. 14. That accounts for 28 points if I'm doing math properly. Indiana lost by 5. IU hits 3 layups, it wins the game. Noah wasn't getting touches in the paint because the defense wasn't allowing it. I have no idea why any of you think the team wasn't trying to get it to him. Go back and watch the tape. Yogi's jump shots and the clock management go back to the missed layups. You make the easy shots, hard decisions don't have to be made. That's just my take.
And coach was running 0 plays to get him looks. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
