What Do You Love Most About Indiana Basketball?

Recommended Posts

Please...no Peter Jurkin jokes.  In no particular order, I'll start:

1) Walking from the concourse, the first seconds into my view of the floor while going to seats.

2) Don Fischer on the mike

3) The traditions; all the things I love stay with the program decade after decade

4) Reminds me of my college days - just one of the great stages of my life that I am so blessed to have experienced

5) From my student days, scoring great lower level tickets in the parking lot thirty minutes before game time for $15.00

6) Darryl Thomas in the low post

7) Knowing that Coach Knight was smarter than whoever was on the other bench

8) Chris Reynolds and Victor Oladipo's on-ball defense

9) Dane Fife and Eric Suhr's off-ball defense

10) The band

11) Calbert Cheaney jump-stopping from 10 feet

12) Cody Zeller hedging out at a guard

13) Uwe Blab catching the ball consistently and hitting a bunch of hook shots by his senior year

14) Matt Nover outworking big guys who were way more talented than he was

15) Chuck Crabb

the fact that weve basically had the same jerseys, candy stripes, and no names on the back are something i always appreciate. It just shows the tradition Indiana basketball has. Assembly hall is also an awesome place to be for a big or even exhibition game.

Everything, the candy striped pants, Martha the mop lady, the banners, Assembly Hall, the effort of the players, the outcomes of the games, the moments we go through with family & friends that will never be forgot, the throwing of chairs, the WatShot, the game of basketball in the best state of the USA!

Feel free to add anything I forgot, I know there is way more because "it's Indiana, it's Indiana."

1) Alford's jumper.

2) Players like, Pat Graham, Matt Nover Brian Evans, Eric Anderson, Kirk Haston, AJ Guyton, Eric Gordon, DJ White, ........

3) the feeling I get every game like it IS the most important game.

4) Those Uniforms that I hope never change.

5) my kids asking the day after the Hoosiers play, "when is IU 'a next game"

More to come...

The Bad Call Brick?  A foam IU brick?  I nearly got one of those when I was a student, I figured if we were going to keep Mike Davis as coach I'd probably need it.

Tradition, culture, fan base, and desire to do things the right way. Those four are things I love about Indiana Basketball. There are more, but really cherish those four things. Big props to my dad's mom for making us IU fans. Can't thank her enough for that! Sent from my DROID4 using BtownBanners mobile app
