Quoting this because hitting "like this" wasn't nearly strong enough.

im so 50/50 on this. The thing for me is though, it really wont be a big loss for us to me, im not going to be critical as much as some have on other sites and forums, but it seems as if Crean has hard time using "centers" and "big men" the way most of us would. We hardly utilize Noah right now and i dont think its going to change, therefore i dont think it will be that hard of a loss if he leaves. in other words hes a great player but he doesnt really produce as much as we thought, because of the system.

Can we stop using the term "centers" in regards to our offense?  We don't have traditional positions, we have guards, wings, and bigs.  Zeller wasn't a 5, he was a 4 naturally but played the 5 because we had no one else which is why we went after Garrett Green.  Vonleh is more of a 4 too.  We really don't have a 5, unless you count Jurkin.  We just have bigs, and not many of those.
except it won't stop even if we are a top ten team cause the issue with crean has nothing to do with our ranking. It had to do with our horrendous half court offense and the lack of improvement in this regard for creans tenure here.

Look at Cody he could've gone to the draft as a frosh and he stays one more year and is the 4th pick and the team is a #1 seed I don't see what's so bad about that.

I really don't see anything wrong with that.

This reminds me a lot of the talk amongst Pacers fans when Roy Hibbert initially got his latest contract.  He really wasn't putting up elite numbers but trust me, the impact he has made on games since then has more than justified the contract.  I think with Noah, no matter what the numbers are he still makes a significant impact on the game when he is on the floor.
Johnson wouldn't so much be competing with Williams for minutes. He's not a 3/4, he's a 2 or combo so he'd be competing with Blackmon and Stan mostly and he won't beat either of them for minutes if Stan develops. I've said that many times.

He's a solid get, but he's not the type of freshman that starts from day 1.

He'd better make a push for a big, not Lyle because we're fine with guards and wings. We desperately need help down low, and we need to start having balanced classes so the big really needs to be a JUCO or a graduate transfer ala Evan Gordon. We really cannot afford to take on another 4 year player this year and start balancing classes.
I agree. I'm saying that more because I think Crean will make a push even though he probably shouldn't. I'd kill for a good JUCO big guy right now.

Cody was considered a low lottery pick until Michael Jordan saved his draft stock and took him at four. Zeller got lucky in that aspect.

That said, Vonleh could definitely be in a similar situation with a high draft pick and it may benefit him more than it did Zeller to stay an extra year.
