I was hoping we would win in 4 games so we could save Waino, but it wasn't meant to be.  Wacha is really showing his talents.  This could be an interesting NLCS if we can get past the Pirates.  If we get Craig back in the next series (if we win tomororw), hopefully that will jolt Matt Carpenter and the Cards offense.  Carpenter is in a slump this whole series, as he is batting at .067.  Not good for the lead off guy.  I don't think he's had a hit since game 1.  Also, none of our guys are hitting over .300 except Pete Kozma in limited action.

I don't think you're going to see Craig back this year. Hope I'm wrong on that but from what I've read I don't expect it to happen.

That really sucks because he was our best clutch hitter by far.  We need that, esp. with the way the team is hitting right now.

What a crazy turn of events.......? Carpenter slips and barely misses the out, Kozma makes a slight mental mistake by going to first, and then the ball hits the first base bag that scores a run. Luckily Waino got out of it.

Boooo. Pitt was a good underdog story! G'luck to the Cards from here on out.

If I wasn't a Cards fan, I would most likely be a Pirates fan. If they got past the Cards, I would def cheer for them. Very good young team!!! With that said, Let's Go Cards!!!

Joe Kelly will start for the Cardinals in NLCS Game 1 on Friday night against the Dodgers.

Kelly will match up against Dodgers righty Zack Greinke in that series-opener Friday in St. Louis. Michael Wacha will pitch Game 2 and Adam Wainwright is on tap for Game 3. Shelby Miller will apparently remain in the bullpen.

Just about to post this. The 4th starter is really iffy. Would love to get Kelly off to a hot start, and get to Greinke. Can't stand Greinke. I think Matt Carpenter catches fire this series.

Matt was hitting the ball well last night. Right at 'ems but hit well. It looks good that he'll get back to normal now.

Completely agree. He had a ton of good hits. Marte's diving catch just emphasized Carp's series. He's too good of a hitter to only get one hit in this series.

I'm so excited. I like that Waino is set to pitch the game 7 if it gets there for either team. Cards really have to contain the hit bats of the Dodgers. Just watched MLB Network, and they are averaging 6.5 runs per the 4 games against the Braves. Crawford is really killing right handed pitching. Kelly really needs to be spotting his change-up!

In other news, Craig is still out for the NLCS. He's seeing a doctor and hopes to be available for the WS if that happens. I think it's more hoping on his part than actual possibility though.

I'm torn on this series.  I really want to see Donnie Baseball get the ring he deserves, but I really hate the Dodgers for bailing Boston out of those stupid contracts.

Heck, Boston is where they are right now because the Dodgers were dumb enough to take on those contracts.
