Hope the Cards show up in their first game of the World Series!!! They sure didn't show up for game 1.  That was flat out embarrassing.  Never seen them play that bad in a game this year.  They looked scared, nervous, and stiff.  Even Waino looked like all of those, and that's not good.  It's almost a must win tonight.

They were the 2nd best team in the NL in terms of errors, but they looked like the worst last night.  Situational hitting along with errors killed the Cards.  Bases loaded 1 out, and a double play.... come on.  That can't happen in the World Series.

Craig looked like he was in pain when he got up. Hope it wasn't a costly win because Craig is looking very comfortable at the plate.

However, huge win! It shouldn't have been that close. Bases loaded no outs and the Cards can't score. Then Holliday left on 3rd I believe with 1 or no outs. A lot of runs left on the bases. That's the 2nd time in the last two series the Cards have stranded bases loaded with one or no outs. CAN'T do that, esp. in the World Series!

Can't let Boston use a lot of emotion tomorrow, because they are coming out tomorrow with a big chip on their shoulders!!!

Not surprising, a Red Sox fan friend of mine called it BS.  It wasn't intentional, but intent doesn't matter and it was obstruction.  Might not have been called if Middlebrooks didn't lift his legs.

Jim Joyce (the ump at third) said in the post game that the legs in the air didn't come that much into the equation. Middlebrooks obstructed and he called it immediately. As you said, intent had nothing to do with it. They had 3 umps and Joe Torre all emphatic that it was the right call.

It was the right call, but I don't pay much attention to anything Jim Joyce says.

That Boston fan is now saying Craig should've been on 3rd with two out because you're awarded the base but Craig was in the line between 2nd and 3rd not 3rd and home.

Well, he had already made it to third so Boston fan is wrong there. Being inside the base line is irrelevant.

Also you aren't automatically awarded the base on that play. The home plate ump has that option based upon whether he thought the runner would have been safe without the obstruction. It was a close play so the ump called him safe. They gave an example of a few years ago Tejada (I assume Miguel, not sure, they just said Tejada) turned around and stopped to tell the ump it was obstruction and never continued the play. They called him out.

In summary, your Boston fan doesn't have a clue what he's talking about! lol

To bad he was safe at 3rd and trying to go home. Tell him to quit being like a Purdue fan! The call is a sucky one because it was a rule that had to be called, even though there was no intent by Middlebrooks to obstruct. Oh well, it's over. Go Cards!!!

Funny thing is when the missed call at second in game one was reversed they were all "good sports" and were just happy the right call was  made. When the right call was made in game three and it went against them they act like whiny babies and cry about it.

Lost all respect for Bosox after seeing the post-game comments from them.

In his post he said he's read his rulebook, so if you want to argue you'd better know what you're talking about.

I asked him if he happened to read the definition of baseline.  The baseline is a straight line from the runner's current location, with 3 feet on either side being the base path.

Yeah, that'll go over well.
