It isn’t. The next year is going to be just as bad as last year. Wish it wasn’t, our coach isn’t good. All the years of talking about how she wants “this kind” of player and “defense” it doesn’t work today. Z has some physical attributes, but wasn’t that great when she played. Beaumont was a train wreck many games, had a few good ones. She really isn’t and never has been any better than Lemandola who she came in with they were interchangeable. Maya can shoot 3s if she can camp and get an open shot. She doesn’t do much more than that. Iu needs some players. Nil isn’t an excuse. The coach openly never wanted any money but iu has the money. Players don’t want to play for her.

Our coach isn’t good. lol what a joke

How many games does Z play????? And if needed where do IU Ladies go as in quality player/s now ?  Good freshman recruits but how impactful at this level?  People who think Ash Cash is going to come in at this level in this system and run point guard and play defense to the level needed to make a jump from last year is unrealistically ridiculous.  That goes for all positions regarding the freshman.  Doesn’t mean they can’t help or contribute….but if expecting them to be main players and players running it back for next year running the show …expect no relevant jump in big ten standings or overall record.

Tennessee forward Lauren Hurst will enter the transfer portal, per her representatives @GSEworldwide. Hurst is a former four-star recruit and shot 41.4 % from three this season. Will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Offered by us in July '23; committed to TN Nov '24.

Committed to Virginia Tech today.

Where would Caffey play at Missouri?  Mathurin/Michigan.  They have a couple starting guards in transfer portal 5 players in all it looks.  But they have a returning point guard and a 4 star freshman coming in at point guard.  Is Caffey going to go to Missouri and set on the bench for 25.00 bucks more.  Kind of boring.

IU needs a couple more from portal. However, you could easily role with the three returning starters and two top-30 freshman and be much better than last yr. If you want to hold on to these top freshman for more than a yr you have to play them big minutes like it or not.

Michigan did exactly this with its freshman class a couple of years ago and is now rolling. Ideally you add some more, but roster is nowhere near as bear as this time last yr.

It may go down as a decision she will regret.

Makes for a good dream….Caffey and Noyan played big minutes.

First off Noyan wasn’t even a top recruit, but brought in to back up Z. She played that role beautifully and its not her fault Z got hurt and she was forced into a role more than she is capable.

Losing Caffey was a huge shame and there is a lot there you could have grown with. However, the two-top 30 kids are about 20 spots higher than Caffey and seeing their highlights they have a much more ready to go game.

Like I said, it could still be a bit rough this year and a couple of transfers would be nice in case Z gets hurt again. However, comparing Caffey and Noyan to this next year is likely apples to oranges.

This group if you can hold onto it for a couple yrs has a high ceiling as you fill around the edges.

Excellent:  same comments as last year.

For IU Ladies perspectives transfer portal a”may turn positive per recent comments by Shay C.

Currently, other programs active and IU pretty quiet which is the norm.

And for IU Ladies

1. Caffey: full time starting P.G.

2. Noyan: starter

3. Kadlecova: starter and couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn nor play defense Until December 11 when Makalusky makes first start scoring 22 points.

4. Makalusky earned her way into starting lineup and excelled.  And who is running it back for the Lady Hoosiers….much love to Makalusky.

How about Audi Crooks, Gracie Merckle, Camryn Runner, Kymora Johnson/Vir, Liv McGill/Fl as possibilities for IU Ladies

Mississippi State transfer Jaylah Lampley has committed to Rutgers, she tells @247SportsPortal. Lampley averaged 8.3 points and 4.7 rebounds this season

Do the Lampleys have something against IU? Lola going to LSU looks like another "Good luck with that!" proposition. She'll probably follow Divine Bourrage & Bella Hines, et al. into the transfer portal.

Ayanna Patterson to Kentucky (per UConn boneyard).

Isn’t she about 27 years old?  I remember T. Moren and IU spending much time to recruit her.  Geno walks in 5 minutes and signs her with UCONN like some others that go to other elite schools that end up having less than stellar careers.  Another one that got away from Indiana.
