Helluva effort tonight.

Hung in there as long as we could. Refs didn't cost us, but they didn't help. We had three players foul out, and with an already short bench -- that didn't help matters.

Maya was superb. Breakout game for her.

Hopefully we get Shay back before we head across town Sunday afternoon. UCLA is on a whole different level than USC.

Wonder what was up with Ondineme. She gave us some decent minutes the other day, but tonight -- not one minute.

I second almost every word of that.  BUT I think the refs DID cost us.  I'm a fan after all.  :)

They're pressing and giving us trouble -- but at the same time, they're very handsy and we're not getting any help from the refs.

That's been the story of this season. Anyone who plays IU should know they can press and wreck this team. Again and again, it continues to happen. Again and again, IU collapses under the press. And, yes, the officials this season have been allowing a lot of body and hand fouls during presses. I'm not sure why IU doesn't press hard and slam into players, too. This game was perhaps more hand fouls, but previous presses have been mostly bodies slamming into IU players and dislodging balls. Why not press physically too, as it seems the officials look away during presses? If not, then at least prepare for the press better than they apparently have...because no team playing IU should neglect the press. Moren should expect every team to press if IU creates a lead. It's how you beat this team.

We all know Moren is a great coach, but this is an issue I'm perplexed by.

IU Ladies….NIL….Makalusky….make sure she doesn’t get poached in transfer portal…..

(don’t/stop being training ground for other programs….don’t become a farm program)

(this loss and most other losses this season are a result of the loss of probably 3 key players to transfer portal from last year’s roster and not getting replacement players of that same impact/quality in transfer portal plus dealing with injuries which seem to be year to year especially in recent years (as many teams have an injury issue)….

that’s the challenge of a thin talented roster…high quality depth to go along with star power is needed.

@LamarCheeks once again thank you for your updates.  One helluva effort missing both Z and Shay.  And what in the hell is CTM doing playing Makalusky?  dws    Maya really stepped up last night not just in scoring but she grabbed 6 rebounds as well.  Really happy for her and that has to be a huge confidence boost.  Nevaeh also played well.  Yes, we lost, but the women put up a damn good fight.

A bright future. No Zania and six of the eight players that saw the court were true freshmen or sophs.

Not necessarily a national contender future - time will tell if Zania can get healthy, how well the current players develop and whether there's a true alpha in next year's class, but Caffey, Beaumont, and Makalusky (and a healthy Zania) are very good long-term pieces.

Because the refs would magically see and call those fouls, and we have too short of a bench to have a bunch of players foul out.

You expecting her to transfer back? LOL! Guessing you mean Beaumont.

That really is an excellent mix of youth. Zania/Beaumont with 2 years of eligibility left.

Moren has been pretty good in the portal... one piece next year could really help. Then the youth infusion coming in.
