Our 7-0 women’s bball team faces 8-0 Iowa State Sunday at 1:30 ET in the championship game of the Coconut Hoops event.  6’3” Audi Crooks is a force in the middle for ISU and I’m not sure we can stop her without our bigs getting into early foul trouble.  She averages 25 ppg and 6 rpg.  As a team, the Cyclones shoot 51% from the field and 36.5% on 3s.  They average 93 ppg and have held their opponents to 53 ppg.  They average 44 rpg vs their opponents 28 rpg.

Guards collapsing and digging on Crooks averages 24 minutes per game (maybe due to blowout wins) and 25 points as Iowa State players average 25 or 26 minutes per game.….IU Ladies whole team will probably be in foul trouble….kick outs for Iowa State 3 ball….run Crooks up and down floor….IU Ladies 3 ball need to keep pace and high fg %….Does Crooks ever get into foul trouble at 24 minutes?  Iowa State has more than just Crooks…. And IU Ladies are going to face this caliber of team often in the big ten through out the season.

Yes, hopefully we can get a lot going in transition and make Crooks huff and puff.

Iowa has two players questionable and Rodriguez out today vs Fairfield.  Florida State had leading scorer out vs IU.  There are a few teams that can absorb losses to key players.  Just need high excellent depth at every position to be a top team.

If we don't get off to a good start and keep our composure, I'm afraid this game could get away from us quickly.  Austin Render on the pre-game show said Z will not play.  Nothing serious but she will not play today.

So we're facing a team with a gargantuan center and our starting center is out. I'm guessing this won't end well.

Z was grabbing her leg at the end of the Gonzaga game and at that time Austin Render thought she was cramping.  Today he described it as a lower body injury but not long term in nature.  Our next opponent is Wednesday at home against Western Michigan (1-4) and then on Saturday we open B1G play on the road at Illinois (5-1).  I'm guessing we don't see Z play Wed. but hopefully good to go next Saturday.

Sounds like it might be 5 against 8 today.  Beaumont and Caffey both have been called for charging fouls.   

Faith Wiseman got the call off the bench for Noyan.
