4-star Gigi Battle listed as 6' tall.  Previously attended Rutgers Prep but transferred to DME Academy in Daytona Beach, FL for the past season.  In 2023, she attended trials for the 2023 USA Women's U16 National Team.  In 2024,  she attended the 2024 USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team minicamp in Portland, Oregon.  She plays AAU on the 3SSB circuit for Central Florida Elite.  She is the younger sister of former Syracuse basketball player Tyus Battle and current Gonzaga player Khalif Battle.

They way 3SSB is reporting stats is unclear as to just how many games are being reported.  They've had 8 scheduled so I'm assuming (dangerous I know) that the totals below are for 8 games.

A decent player 4 star at 93 per ESPN rating….another developmental player same as  (Spreen, Lamendola, Beaumont, Bargesser) and  don’t think Moore-McNeil was rated that high in high school though was often referred to as best player on the floor.

If this is the second top 50- commit in a week, the only two conclusions that I can arrive at are:

1. We are starting to open up the checkbook for women's hoops, and/or
2. Colton Thompson as an assistant coach has made a monumental difference.

A 247 poster who appears to have a good "in" to IUWBB says that in addition to #1 and #2 above, Ali Patberg has been a major recruiting asset.

idk, could be both.  likely both.  But it seems Teri would get that 40-80 ranged recruit before as well.

No doubt in my mind that Patberg is working it hard. She has an infections personality (and energy) that is really an asset

7-10 days ago I felt really confident we'd land GiGi but reports I've seen indicate a major bidding war has been taking place and I'm less confident today.  We'll know tomorrow.

Is this an indicator of current IU NIL status? And/or what is this player worth in NIL?  She is not the highest rated player.  94 4 stars is good, not great.  (considering young guard on team , guard coming (3 star) and is there another guard somewhere else whether hs or transfer portal)?

Plus her instagram and twitter never had pics of IU visits other than IU listed in 4 visits with NC State, Iowa, and Georgia.

However, it would be great for IU if she would choose IU because she has size and looks strong.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??

Is there any strategy for programs to drive NIL money up when bidding on a player to drain another school who gets recruit of nil/resources forcing school to pay a premium for a particular player.
