HoosierFan1994 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Mods..sorry if this is the wrong thread. Going to Michigan-IU on November 9th. Thanks to stupid TV rules they won't announce game time until Saturday night. That being said I'm sorry for all the questions but I'd like to make the most of it. It could be a big day...they have a chance to set the program records for most wins in a season. 1) What do you recommend for parking? My assistant principal is a season ticket holder and gave me some advice on lots/churches nearby. I don't care to walk. When I last went me and a few buddies parked on Kirkwood and drank/walked the entire way. 2) If it's a night game is it even worth trying to get lunch somewhere? Nick's is usually my go to. OR if it's a Noon kick is it worth trying to get food after? My A.P. said no just get food around the stadium/inside stadium. 3) How early do you recommend getting to the Memorial Stadium area? I have a few friends that are going to tailgate with my wife and I. I'd like to mingle around with some other friends that will be there. I'd like to try and watch the walk and check out the BTown Blvd as well. I figured 3-4 hours before kickoff. 4) Any other advice? Based on Peegs the restrooms/concessions suck at Memorial Stadium. I noticed on TV the last few weeks a long line to get into the stadium before the game. Figure an hour before kickoff is when we need to start heading in. Thanks for all the help. It's my birthday gift this year. Never did I think going to an IU Football game would be my preferred gift lol. I have a feeling it's going to be 12:00/8:00 on FOX or 3:30 on CBS. I'm leaning towards Primetime or CBS...haven't had either of those really this year outside the Friday game. Banksyrules 1 Quote

jmsgws Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Get to the stadium at least 3 hours before. We got there at 10 last weekend and could barely find parking and we bought parking passes in the stadium parking lot! Far too many people taking up 2 spots for tailgating. I would try and find a pass on the secondary market. My Dad has been a ticket holder for 20 years. He commented he has never seen anything like the last two games. Concessions suck go early. Homecoming game I went out at the start of half time and still missed 10 minutes of the third quarter. also don’t plan on using your cell phone no wifi in the stadium and the cell towers can’t handle the traffic i know some people with ATT are ok but they have been the only carrier that seems to work in the stadium Honestly it seems for the first time the football is actually the best part of the game day experience. upperarlington 1 Quote

If you JUST need a spot to park, I like going to the Unitarian Universalist Church if you're just looking to park. 2) Never stayed in Bloomington to eat after the game. 3) Noon kick. I'd get there by 730/8. 4) Concessions are what they are. They are long everywhere. (Tennessee, Purdue, Notre Dame) all have massive lines. Line to get in when VERY quick. Wasn't really an issue, we got in line at 1145AM and were in our seats for kick. Quote

You probably won't be able to get in Nick's before or after the game unless you get really lucky or want to wait in line for at least an hour. Really anywhere on Kirkwood and downtown Bloomington staples will be like that. Food inside has gotten better but still is what it is. Try to tailgate, it's really the best option. Concessions and restrooms aren't bad unless you go at halftime or in between quarter breaks when everybody else goes. Be ready to stand for the majority of the game. Dave from Dayton 1 Quote

We are in row 5 by one of the end zones..look like great seats. Tickets were $60 a piece. Now they're over $200 so a good deal too. Quote

I would be there by 830AM (on a noon start) and again, won't really be able to tailgate there, but it's a spot, and what I like about it... very easy to get out after the games. Fee to 46 and then wherever. I've parked here multiple times in the past and then again this past Saturday. Worked well. We got there at 9AM and got one of the last spots. Glad we did. Quote

I'm making the trip for the Michigan game (and Thursday night women's hoops and Sunday men's hoops). Pretty happy that we got 20 yard line, row 19, tix on SeatGeek the day before the Nebraska game for $125 per. Those are about $400 per currently. And definitely walking to the stadium from lunch (or breakfast) downtown. Dave from Dayton and CSP 2 Quote
