Any extension decision, made at the end of next season -- hopefully postseason -- has to consider how effective CMW was with the strong players he has added in the Portal along with Tucker and the returning core players. 

CMW has to use the arc, the absence of 3-point shooting by volume is glaring, and the team and program cannot develop under CMW until he integrates outside shooting as part of the offensive scheme. 

This is his proving year. A high B1G finish, and a strong tourney run are expected, and realistically necessary at this point. I hope he proves himself -- as the coach to continue to lead IU back to prominence. If he doesn't, he should recognize that and retire, as one of the all time great IU players -- placing the interest of the program first.
