Class of '66 Old Fart

IUWBB vs Penn State - Wednesday, 01.10.04 @ 7:00 on B1G+

Recommended Posts

Penn State (10-4) (1-2) Lost to O$U in OT in Columbus and to Michigan State at home.  They kicked Northwestern's butt on Jan. 2, by a score of 95-55.  They will have had 8 days off before making the trip to Bloomington.  This PSU team can put points on the board having gone over the century mark 3 times and scored in the 90's in 4 other games.  They shoot 42% from the 3-point line and on average out-rebound their opponent by 5 boards.

We simply cannot get caught looking ahead to our Saturday showdown in Iowa City.

Important to note their two best players Makenna Marisa and Ashley Owusu are out. Marisa played in OSU game till she got hurt in it very late.

They are not same team since the injury but still a team to be wary of. Northwestern worst team in Big Ten.

Must win game because quite a bit better chance Wednesday than Saturday.  However, two solid wins (definitely should be Wednesday) will move IU at least a couple spots up in the rankings (depending on what others do in front of them).

Good game to handle press pressure in preparation vs O.S.U.

Against Michigan Ohio State press did not look like last year’s press…they had more success vs Northwestern a weaker opponent.

WRTV Indianapolis just stated the hottest game in basketball tonight is in West Lafayette when Caitlin Clark and Iowa come to Mackey arena.

Reminder:  THERE IS ANOTHER GAME IN A GYM BLOOMINGTON INDIANA STARING THE IU LADY HOOSIERS vs Penn State.

Have to beat Iowa to quiet the noise.

No mention of IU Ladies vs Penn State….pathetic.

Chump closes out with join us at 11:00 with Purdue vs Iowa and Caitlin Clark comments.

Sounds like Marisa may give it a go.  This from Amanda Foster -

Penn State's leading scorer, Makenna Marisa (17.2 ppg), is warming up for the Nittany Lions right now. She's been out for the past four games. The last time the two teams matched up (last year, Indiana won 67-58) she played all 40 minutes with 12 pts and 7 rebounds.

IU Ladies do not look fast nor quick tonight and playing not to lose vs playing to win.  Confidence unsure of themselves, lack of intensity unlike Penn State who looks fresh and better team in first half.

Penn State guards are killing IU Ladies.
