Saw this comment on Reddit and thought it was funny enough to share:

"It was an interesting experiment for Peacock to take ten guys who have never shot a basketball before and stream a game between them, but let’s get the college athletes back that won’t airball ten shots next game."

I read that too lol. It was bad on both sides of the ball honestly. Again I stand by my statement earlier in the game thread, there is no reason we should have lost that game regardless of having X in the whole time or not. Rutgers is a bad basketball team.

I feel like this is almost deja-vu from last year. Around this time the team was really struggling. I just had no interest in IU basketball for a few weeks. Part of it could have been the NFL playoffs were going on. Eventually the team turned it around. However, I just don't get that vibe from this team. I just have no excitement for IU Basketball right now. It sucks. I feel like watching this team struggle vs low-majors at the start of the year did it. I didn't even watch the game on Peacock. I ended up doing something else. It's just not appointment TV for me right now.

Xavier Johnson...this program demands and deserves more from him. It's a shame. Need him to play at an all-conference level. It's just not happening. I am not sure it will.

I still like Woodson. I'm not ready to fire him like most. This program has to make significant changes to the staff. I don't think they are good enough. They failed this offseason thinking Xavier Johnson, Trey Galloway, CJ Gunn, and Gabe Cupps would be good enough. There need to be consequences for that. If Woodson doesn't figure it out in the future, it will be him that's gone.

It's probably too late for any '24 recruits. Portal is the only option for guards to make a significant impact. IU needs to land a legit Point Guard and shooting guard. What they have in the frontcourt should be good (Liam, Malik, maybe Mackenzie, and possibly Queen..I am so out of touch I have no idea if he is even coming here). Move Galloway to 6th man. Cupps off the bench as well.

Can you at least be consistent?

So no standards and just win baby!!

You were the loudest poster amount many who wanted MM suspended for Taco Bell incident. Wouldn’t see any other side of it but want us all to see your side on something much worse. You said you were so level headed you never even get upset and could walk away.  Beard couldn’t I guess - not to mention his major and known drinking problem.

Funny (sad) to see how many posters who are in favor of Beard were same ones who went off about a Taco Bell incident. Hmmm

For those that said the “charges were dropped” - yeah, because they couldn’t prove he choked her. She had bite marks (sure she but herself), bruises all over, gashes on her leg, etc. She dropped charges and without her cooperation, they didn’t feel they could 100% convict him. She then left him and probably took the pay off.

I know this needs to stay on topic and I post less and less due to me rubbing many wrong but stuff like this is so ridiculous.  I will be quiet again.

The horror of thinking a kid should sit out a half after an arrest.

I haven't excused Beard's behavior for a second, in fact I called it reprehensible, allegations or not. It still doesn't dispute his ability to coach basketball or win games.

Again, I don't look at these coaches as anything more than just that...coaches. I would never seek Beard for marriage advice or anger management counseling, and why would I? He's a basketball coach at the end of the day. He's not a figure of moral turpitude, no coach or athlete is.

You will find that both in the public and private sector there are a select few individuals whose talents are worth more than their baggage. Chris Beard happens to be one of those individuals. If IU is serious about winning and get back to the glory days, Chris Beard is a no-brainer.

Brian Evans was on the JMV show and he us definitely not happy with Woodson. He is really upset because of how he doesn't hold players accountable and no real punishment for poor play. He said he can't believe how Woodson could have played 4 years for RMK and coach so soft.

He said he never has met Woodson and to me that is hard time believe. Evans was still IU for 5 years and can't believe Woodson never came back in that time frame.
