By my math I am tracking eight remaining in the portal (Holloman, Bohler, Miller Jr., Jeffries, Jared Casey, Greenlow and both Minor's) with 80 committed for the Fall. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/indiana-football-positional-scholarship-breakdown/ this says 81 Napleshoosier and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote

Lebowski Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 He's basically talking about IUFB. These comments make me wonder if this is a good overall strategy. While I completely agree with what he's saying that's not what is happening. Players are shopping. LSU had 27 enter the portal. Does LSU not have the cash flow? lillurk and upperarlington 2 Quote

To be fair, I'm not sure if he was assigned to Marvin Harrison Jr. but the 4th overall pick in this year's NFL draft only had 2 catches for 18 yards against his team. He did have a PD that game as well. Considering how bad things were last year, he was probably one of the players on the team that was above average. But yeah, I get your point. Aaron Casey was definitely a standout player for IUFB '23. Maybe Jaylin Lucas? But he was a disappointment for me personally. He had a better '22 season in my opinion. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Lebowski Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 All4You Podcast talked about this but it looks like Coach Cig might be re-writing the playbook on how to use the portal. Basically bring in a lot of G5 all-conference and FCS All-American players that have been productive and highly graded. This is of course IUFB produces on the gridiron this season. There's always that doubt that these type of players are in the G5 and FCS for a reason. We'll see it all play out for sure and I can't wait. MemphisHoosier and lillurk 2 Quote

Bring in a highly productive player from a mid/low-major. Seems a little less obvious with football, maybe because FCS players tend to have lesser physical measurables, but if executed smartly? Hell yes! MemphisHoosier, lillurk, Lebowski and 2 others 5 Quote

It will be interesting to see how it play out for Cig/IU in football. On the basketball side, as an example, Dalton Knecht from Northern Colorado? Grand slam for Tennessee. Second team All-Mac Payton Sparks for IU? Meh. Eagerly awaiting the opener. Quote
