Another big day at the Top 100  Camp from Brandon Ramsey.

Man, Darius Acuff had himself a DAY at the NBPA Top 100.  2025 PG out of Cass Tech had 21 points, 5 rebounds, & 6 assists this morning. Then, he just went off for 32 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists this afternoon.

After 2 days and 4 games at the Top 100 Camp.  Couple of quick notes.  Boogie opted out to rest his thigh for Peach Jam.  Austin Swartz out with an ankle injury.  Kiyan Anthony played 4 minutes in his first game Wednesday and nothing more since then; presumably an injury.  And don't shoot the messenger but Trent Sisley wasn't extended an invitation.

Top 100 Camp has ended.  In the perfect world, each player would have played in a minimum of 5 games.  After the 5th game this morning, 4 teams then played a 2-game tournament.  For some reason, both Jasper Johnson and Flory Bidunga played 5 games for their initially assigned teams and then played 2 additional games today on the Los Angeles squad.

Just for kicks, here's stat lines for a couple of kids that may or may not ever receive an IU offer but they put up some pretty good performances.  Note that Dybansta and Stokes are both just sophomores and yet received invites to this event.  ESPN's most recent '26 ranking had Dybansta as #1 and Stokes #2.  Cooper Flagg was named MVP.

The USA U19 team came home from the FIBA U19 World Cup without a medal.  They lost a semifinal game 89-86 to France yesterday and lost the 3rd place game today 84-70 to Turkey.  Fingerpointing from multiple sources that the final selection of who made the team was questionable.   Raby tweeted:  "They also cut too many talented players from this year’s U19 team. It was obvious to everyone who watched the team trials in Colorado Springs."  One of the most talked about I've seen is how they could leave Derik Queen off the team.  Just 2 players with IU offers made the final roster.

This is cool, but it’s a touch misleading. McNeeley plays with Karter Knox, who’s a top 10 ‘24 about whom there’s a lot of speculation that he could be going the Pro route. I imagine he’s target #1 for scouts.

The Indy Heat team did not qualify for the Peach Jam but were invited to the Peach Invitational Tournament (PIT)  They played 2 games yesterday and one this morning losing all 3.  They were without Kanon Catchings yesterday who was reportedly ill.  Saw mention they were also missing another player which might be Jacob Theodosiou.

For the 3 games, Sisley averaging 18.7p; 9.3r; 2.3a.  Shooting 54% FG; 0-8 on 3s; 82% FT.  Haralson 16.0p; 5.3r; 6.0a.  Shooting 38% FG; 1-11 on 3s; 73% FT.

Despite going 0-3, they still have 5 more scheduled games.

The play on the secondary, NIT-style tournament AND peach pits here is incredible.

Jamie Shaw's comments from Day 3 of the Peach Jam.

Four-star SG Trey McKenney (The Family 17s) is a big guard. He has a feel to score the ball, at each level, and in an efficient manner. The 6-foot-3 McKenney finished with one with 19 points and 8 rebounds.

Four-star SF Rakease Passmore (Team Thad) game has expanded, finding comfort in playing within two dribbles and knocking down shots. He is taking his jump shot confidently while still using his explosive athleticism. He finished with 21 points on 8-for-13 from the field.

Five-star SG Meleek Thomas (New Heights Lightning 17s) is a fiery competition and a shot maker. He is a quick-twitch guard who can create space and has a confident jump shot. He finished with 23 points, going 9-for-18 from the field.

Four-star Darius Acuff (The Family) is a scoring guard, and he finished with 20 points in this one, but it was the 8 assists he got that were intriguing. The scoring was still inefficient, going 2-fo-8 from three, but th passing was on time.

 

'26 A. J. Dybansta doesn't have an offer and may never get one, but this kid is really good.

Smooth would be a good word to use to describe AJ Dybantsa. The 6-foot-8 class of 2026 small forward is capable of getting his shot at any point in the possession. He has great length with a natural explosive burst. The handle is efficient within two or three dribbles, and he is playing with better balance, which is enabling him to rise up vertically to get his shot off in the half-court.  Simply put, Dybantsa has ‘it’. He wants the ball in the big moments, and he has the confidence – and the skill – to get his offense going. At times he it is hard to remember he is playing up two age groups as a 2026 in the 17u age group.  He finished with 25 points and 8 rebounds, going 10-for-19 from the field.
