[Rod Roddy Price is Right voice]

A new car!

I’m a big fan of Wilkerson so I hope this is taken in with the spirit it’s intended. If college athletics are to mean anything in this new era, I hope it at least means they get a little help in financial management. We have the KSOB.

I saw Dusty May sit on a podium and when his players were asked what they we’re going to buy with their NIL he chimed in “annuities.” Funny but probably apropos.

I don’t know Wilkerson or his mom’s financial situation, so I’m not making a judgement here. But if college athletics are to mean anything in this age of NIL rosters they should endeavor to help these 18-22 year olds make wise financial decisions.

Your quick Dusty May anecdote is more proof why Dusty next-level 'gets it'.

I believe that all IU teams get financial literacy training; @Hovadipo can confirm. They can't ever get enough of that training - hopefully it is regularly reinforced.

To my knowledge, yes. If that has changed then Scott severely dropped the ball which I doubt.

One of my colleagues is working with a few football players and to my knowledge, it’s really in the players’ hands to seek help.

Is that for actual financial advising? Or general financial education? What I’m talking about is a simple class that’s more or less the Broke 30 for 30 in lecture form.

Actual advising. I misunderstood your original post, so you are absolutely right - Scott better have someone like that for our athletic programs!

Annuities Dusty?

lol…I don’t even remember the exact line…might’ve been something else. Either way I think the programs that give the guys a little direction will separate themselves from the ones just splashing cash.
