I know, it never happened because we're not Kentucky. We can figure out ways to get high end players money to play at IU while building a program or we can keep saying "it's still not legal." There are plenty of ways to get players money. Like was posted before, what is market value to play 1v1 against a player for 30 minutes? What is market value for Lander to play a video game with someone? What is market value for Ken Nunn to really love IU basketball? What jobs that don't require licensure are illegal to have? Lander is already NIL to play games against people. If 1 v 1 against a player were that lucrative, I'm sure you would have heard #'s from around the country by now. Quote

IU_FanClub Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 So basically the question that we are left with here is in 2 years or so when we inevitably are in the situation to find a new coach again are we gonna pony up and make this **** work or are we gonna go with with the half @$$ nostalgia hire destined for failure Quote
southernindianahoosier2 Posted March 3, 2022 Author Posted March 3, 2022 So reflecting after last nights game. The good feet store (supposedly) can't give TJD $50,000 to twirl a sign on the street corner for an hour and the school can't be a facilitator in whatever they do. But they could have him appear at the store, sign autographs and such. Could they not? Just like the pros do. Quote

Yes, but it's not supposed to be carte blanche on the amount he makes. If he is on his own getting $10 an autograph, then they aren't supposed to be able to pay the equivalent of $500 per autograph. It's supposed to be financially sound decision for the Good Feet Store, not a decision based on them wanting IU to have good players. Quote

Zion's family got a new house it seems, under the table. A builder couldn't just build TJD a new house because the # of people who buy houses based on that probably doesn't offset the cost, as a business decision. A rich guy under the table, can funnel whatever he wants the old fashioned way, and it's still supposed to be illegal. Quote

How do you feel about it?That’s almost exactly what they did in the Moye/Jeffries/Newton days. They would go to a “safe house” and pick up prepaid gift cards for shopping expenditures. Drove around in a pimped out Navigator. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER and thebigweave 2 Quote
