Montverde participating in the Iolani Classic in Hawaii and won its opening game 92-49 over St. Louis, a local Hawaiian high school.  Queen did not start but I had him finishing with 17p; 2r; 1a; 2s; 1b; 0t.

In their second game at the Iolani Classic, MVA steamrolled Iolani 84-26.  The led 25-5 after the 1st Q and never looked back.  Queen had team-highs of 17 points and 13 rebounds.

MVA is back in action on Wednesday morning at 1:00 am ET (Tuesday evening at 8:00 pm in Honolulu) for a semifinal round game against Mount St. Joseph. The game can be seen via YouTube live stream free of charge.   NOTE:  MSJ is where Bryson Tiller played last year before joining Overtime Elite.  MSJ does still have Amani Hansberry, an Illinois commit.  I watched several of MSJ's games last season and Hansberry will be a load in the B1G.  Plays hard, rebounds, can shoot the 3.

Mount Saint Joseph didn't get the memo.  They trailed 23-12 after the 1st Q but ended up winning 56-55.  Montverde looked tired and played sloppy ball.  Queen does not start and played less than 7 min. today and didn't see any action in the second half.  He finished with 6p; 1r; 1b.  IMO his physical conditioning is sorely lacking.  MVA plays again today and then heads back to Florida.

MVA defeated Milton (GA) 79-45 in the 3rd place game of the Iolani Championship.  After only playing 7 min. yesterday, today Queen got the start in place of Asa Newell and logged 20-25 min. recording a double double.       13p; 12r; 4a; 0s; 2b; 0t.

Sometimes it's more entertaining to watch Coach Kevin Boyle on the sideline than the actual game.  He never stops coaching and is quite animated.

I don't know who this imposter is, but it's not Derik Queen.  I watched Queen play 4 games in the Iolani Classic 3 weeks ago and this guy playing tonight can't be the same guy.  Except for a single game in Hawaii, Queen was just not that impressive and now tonight he's putting MVA on his back.
